im wondering if its possible to modify a console. more cooling power. a bigger fan or more fans, to draw in/out air. is there any spots to tap into on systems board for power or would it screw up the console? like for the PS3/360 (maybe PS2) have plug in external fans. i kinda wanted to do internal fans. PS3, PS2, Wii, Dreamcast, maybe N64 (its fanless?)

Most of the newer systems have USB ports so I'd consider finding a 5V fan and tapping into the USB line. Heck, you could just use a USB fan and cut a hole in the casing to fit. Honestly though, there's not much use to adding fans. You'd be better off opening the system up and cleaning out the dust to bring temps down.

I had an older router that started overheating and I just took a 12V power supply, cut the end off ans spliced it to a normal 80mm 12V computer case fan. Then I cut a circular hole in the top of the router and mounted the fan to it. Wasn't the prettiest thing but it kept the router running smoothly while I waited for a newer model to arrive in the mail.

well i really dont want to cut a huge hole on the consoles. but have thought of enlarging the openings a bit. i will open all consoles to clean them out. i know my PS3 gathers some heat and doesnt throw it out. thats why i thought about a secondary fan. for the Dreamcast, it doesnt have a USB but does have a serial port and also thought a bigger fan. the PS2 and Wii, i dont remember since i havent used them in a while. the N64, havent had one in years so i dont know.
