Quick back story,  I inherited my late brother's 65 Tempest and began work on it several years ago but had to stop due to funds and military duty.  I found this forum as a great resource so far as im a 30yo new school Mustang student and dont know much about the old school stuff other than the basics.   Im about to go drag it back to Texas and do a restomod but cant figure out which flat car hauler to get.   It seems an 18' would get it done but a 20' would guarantee it to fit.   Any suggestions?   Thanks! What are you towing it with?

Enclosed or open?

65 Tempest would start around 3400 lbs so that would be where I would start.

Using my F150 4x4 with a 5.4

I just dont want to buy a trailer and the car not fit. Definitely going with open as I can use it as a utility trailer if needed.

20' is definately, I believe that the Ford should tow around 9000 lbs so you are good there.

Featherlite makes great trailers but expensive.

A little less expensive but I have found they have a larger dealer nextwork so easier to get work done.

I would look into renting a UHAUL. Pick one up @ nearest Uhaul to the car. Can be dropped off @ nearest location by your house. They don't make good utility trailers. JUSTA to big. And it dont have sides for utility. Save your $$$ for the project. Justa my .02

I think uhaul may be the way to go. 400 bucks opposed to 2 or 3 grand for a new trailer. Thanks for the suggestions guys!
