So yeah...Apple decided not to suck anymore.

Alright, updated the 3rd gen iPod Touch to iOS 5...

Damn. I'm impressed. The annoying quirks are finally gone (which version 4 never did ANYTHING ABOUT) but what amazed me...YOU CAN RE-DOWNLOAD MUSIC FOR FREE! Before, if you lost music from iTunes, Apple pretty much said, "FORD you," and you had to pay to get them back. Now, you can recover all music purchased at no cost. Very helpful since I lost track of some albums extracting music from the iPod initially...

Plus, the interface is more interesting. There's iCloud, but I haven't messed with this yet...

adobe is coming out with HTML5, something apple couldn't do.i have respect for apple i really do, but I am not going to follow everone else's foot steps and watch them rule the world. I want to be a rebel and stick to my windows and android. Ill invest in apple, but thats for a money gain. and Mark twain once said, Whenever you find yourself on the side of the majority, it is time to pause and reflect.

I have an Android powered phone (HTC Sense) and I'll be honest, it's nothing mind blowing. If anything, the iPod's interface feels more smooth and polished.

agreed i had a droid x and then got a iphone 4. it seems apple pays more attention to the small things and android its just a mess imo.

iOS 5 is pretty nice I have been playing around with it since thursday. but you could redownload music in iOS 4.

Good to hear Apple joined the 21st century and isn't as much of a money grumbling dictator. Microsoft has allowed you to re-download items you bought or have obtained for free since day 1.

Oh and Killiger what does HTML5 have to do with anything? W3C is part of the commission who develop/sanctioned HTML5, far from Adobe. HTML5 is only web oriented and allows media to be distributed on websites more fluently but has hardly any support in the mobile world yet... I hate hearing about HTML5, partially because everybody in my career throws it around so much it means nothing because browsers have rare support for it still on desktop let alone anywhere else yet.

I've played around with plenty of Apple products: Macs, iPhones, iPods, iPads, etc... Nothing comes close to my PC, Droid X and Zune HD. The only Apple product I own is a POS which is the iPod and after that bit the dust I swore I'd never would own another. IMO Apple products are so restrictive and you can't think for yourself, I guess that's what you get when your CEO won't let people develop their own projects

Apple hasn't jumped on that plate form yet and Adobe, who is a rival is getting in on it and apple won't have it for their tablet for about the first year

Adobe doesn't make tablets (unless I missed something?), Android is made by Google who IS Apple's rival in the tablet/phone world. Adobe makes programs like Photoshop, Reader, Flash, Dreamweaver and other Creative Suite products, as well among a lot of other little things but not tablets/phones or programming languages. Adobe wouldn't make HTML5 (even if they did do programming languages) because it is a rival for it's product Flash, for some things. Which Android has and Apple probably will never have.

i upgraded my itouch 4th gen to ios 5 the other night and so far it seems the annoying twitchyness of ios4 is gone.
