Hi, my name is Paul & I have a 61 starchief. Im here to learn some new things, but I also have some parts I'd like to put up for sale. Initially it looked like this forum allowed you to buy & sell parts. Buy now that I am registered, I don't see anybody selling anything. Am I in the wrong forum ? Can someone please guide me. Thanks, Paul

Hi Ringo 64. I am completely new to this whole forum concept and I feel completely confused by it. I seems like some kind of a maze and I have a bunch of questions. Can I ask you some questions here or do I have to go somewhere else to ask questions ? Thanks, Paul

Here is fine ) . Sure others may have questions that you have so long as we're not exposing any personal information that you may want private, here would help serve that. Would just think of forums as categories to place content in. It's better for permanent content, instead of like most social media, where you just throw a post into the ether and hope someone see's it and depending on the activity, someone may never see it or lose it a few hours later lol. Forums allow you to go to a specific category to find something, search, etc...

Our community has a lot going on here between our forums, garage, gallery, etc... As you're getting used to forums, I would just get used to the concept of that (can ignore the other menu areas in our navigation for the time being so it is much simpler). I.e. I would just go to https://foreverpontiac.com/forums/ to see the list of forums (categories) and what is (or should be) posted in them. Start a new topic would start a new area for you to post your content. If you see an existing topic that relates to what you want to see, you can read it, and then submitting a reply (post) will allow you to post a reply.

Let me know any questions you may have! Happy to help out. I've been involved in forums for over 20 years so there may be things which we could also improve too to help those less savvy and new to concept.

Thank you Ringo 64. I have to ask you to really think of me like say a 5 year old. Everything is confusing. I don't know anything and I may ask questions that seem like they have obvious answers, but to me, they don't. I hope you can have patience with me. I probably have 10 or so questions rolling around in my head, but I'm just gonna ask one or 2 at a time so it's easier for me.

FIRST QUESTION - So, when I signed into or registered into this forum and asked a question, the first thing that I became aware of was the name RINGO 64. So, does this mean that you are some kind of manager of the forum or in charge of new members or in charge of people interested in selling things ?

QUESTION 2 - You gave me a link for where to go to sell parts in your last message. But, when I look on the left side of the screen, I see lots of choices like Leaderboard, clubs, Garage etc... but I don't see any place on the left that says "Parts for sale" or anything like that. So, if I wasn't lucky enough to have you provide a link, how would I get there ? Thank you, Paul M.

I am the admin on the community ). I try to welcome new members. Mainly as I will approve your first post to make sure you're not some spam bot posting nonsense lol .

The left-hand navigation brings you to all the various areas of the community. Forums are one of those areas. If you click Forums in the left-hand navigation, you will get a list of all forums. (aka the Forums index in my previous post https://foreverpontiac.com/forums/ ) You can then read through the available forums and near the bottom is the For Sale forum.

If you want to ignore everything in that navigation but for that Forums navigation item for now, that will help you start out small :) .
