Vibration 1950 Pontiac

Featured Replies

1950 Pontiac Streamliner 6 cylinder with a standard transmission. I replace all of the motor mounts, 2 in the rear which one was broken and the other one was on its way out, also replaced the front as well. Now I have a vibration and the transmission shifting is not as smooth as it was before. Any suggestions?

Thanks for any advice

does the vibration go away at any speeds? when does it start speed wise. not familiar with that car at all. however, are the new mounts taller by alot or similar in height?

What shape are the transmission mounts? What shape is the rear suspension? Are those bushings worn out? Have you looked at the pinion angle? Food for thought.

Wow, I did not check the trans mount! I will check that. The car was fine before I did the 3 motor mounts. Thanks for the info

The new mounts look to be a little taller as the old ones were worn out.

There is no rear trans mount, just one in the front of the engine and two that mounts to the bell housing.
