Purchased this Catilina from MECUM, Kissimmee this January.

How do I obtain the "Factory Manifest" it was advertised as being available.

So Far Zero help from MECUM and the seller remains anonymous and at large unidentified.

Hello Chas,

And welcome to the group.   You can try the Pontiac Historical Society Automotive Services at the link below:

https://www.phs-online.com/

People speak highly of the PHS but I have not tried them.  I was extremely lucky to find three very legible Pontiac build sheets in my Catalina convertible when I took the car apart.

And please don't be a one question and done member around here.  We would love to see pictures of your car and join in our discussions.

Hi GoFar

B52 is correct, PHS is the ultimate source of truth and their information is well worth the money. Pontiac is the only GM division to have kept it's build history.

In your case, you have another possible source - assuming you have a legit 421 super duty car. Pete McCarthy's book documents the VIN number of every Super Duty car Pontiac produced in the 1960s.

If you are looking for a factory build sheet, you MIGHT be lucky to find the original build sheet either under the rear seat (look in both the upper and lower) or on top of the fuel tank (between the tank and trunk floor). However, these sheets often don't survive either due to time/elements exposure or previous owners finding-removing-throwing away/critter damage these things.

Let us know what you discover.

Again, thanks to Frosty and B-52 Bombardier.

PHS really came through for me, my printer ran out of ink printing all the info they sent me.

Well worth the 100 bucks.

New search, my Dwell reading is off, anyone know where I can get one of these (pictured below)

I think I would just use a 1/4” nut driver or rubber coated Rachel, an extension, perhaps a universal, and a Allen wrench socket.

I have decided to go with a PERTRONIX for my SD 421.

As they have three models with explanations that they "VARY" the Dwell, which makes me uncomfortable,

which model does this Forum endorse?
