  1. Next is throttle cable bracket, any ideas? Pictures? Have Edelbrock performer intake and need One for throttle and kick down cable
  2. As long it last until the warranty is over 😁 doesn't mean it is the best solution but it's cheap and it works good enough πŸ€”
  3. I bet most of the time the rubber lines where added when the lines cracked/ leaked because of to much flexing, a lot of newer cars have hoses crimped on to the hardlines, i thought it was a little different with the way the lines was routed via the frame but that's how the factory did it.
  4. That's the way they stock trans cooler lines are run and mounted took quite a while before i found some pictures of it and i also had my stock line but they where pretty twisted up. Most older cars have one piece tubes all the way but the one's i have done in the past have been run next to the oil pan and out in front. I believe that most cars that has hoses at one end has been cut and modified, we will find out how it works. JSD M073 Pontiac Polished Aluminum Water Neck Thermostat Housing 326 350 389 400 421 455 https://a.co/d/7Pjkjif Didn't care for the shiny look so i bead blasted it and painted it 😁
  5. So i finally found some pictures of how the trans cooler lines are supposed to run an it's apparently on the outside of the manifold so i made some lines pretty close to that, had to make one splice on the line that goes to the left side of the car, they did not have any longer one's, they turned out ok but still waiting for som clips/ clamps from inline tube to hold the lines together. Got the adjustable thermostat housing to work with the hose i got from Ames, didn't care for the shiny look so i bead blasted it and painted it to look more stock. Got a new alternator from power master, not a big fan of the color of the pulley and fan but I'll leave it at least for now. Had a old 19" fan leftover from some other car and it fits in n the shroud. Next up is the bracket for throttle and kick down cable's, because of the Edelbrock intake nothing fit's.
  6. next up is to make trans cooler lines but don't know how they where run stock, between pan and exhaust or on the outside of the exhaust along the frame? anyone got some pics?
  7. The wire that should be connected to the battery is the 30 terminal and no it will not consume any power, it's like a switch that is not turned on at that time but do install a fuse on that wire
  8. very cool signs and now you have the perfect place to hang them.πŸ‘πŸ™‚
  9. tight it is,hopefully not to tight so i get vibrations, i'm sure stock had rubber bushings but no one have them available. still dont like the stock bracket that hold the shifter handle, very flimsy.
  10. Finished welding the last exhaust pieces after i ran out of gas and had to refill and of course the bottle had to get recertified also. Painted the pieces i built, the rest is aluminized and installed, it came out pretty good. Also added a o2 sensor port for tuning later on, always wanted to get an A/F ratio meter. Got my bushings and installed them in all the shifter joints, i love McMaster Carr they have such a good assortment of stuff that is hard to find and almost all the bushing had a nice press fit just had to adjust the height on a few of them. Next is core support sanding and painting.
  11. Yes and that way you don't have to poke around under the dash,
  12. Get a relay and see if the original wire to the coil will trigger it, run it to the 86 terminal on the relay , run a wire to ground from the 85 terminal, run a wire with a inline fuse holder from horn relay to 30 on relay then run wire from 87 to coil
  13. Congrats to your new project i know you need one it would be a terrible thing if you ran out of shit to do πŸ˜‹πŸ˜ i Wich i had half of all the energy you have, staying tuned.
  14. Exhaust system is pretty much in there but it's going slow now the only thing left is to finish the pipes to the manifolds, the exhaust guy swaged a couple of pipe stubs since those pieces needed to be 2 1/4" and the rest of the system is 2 1/2", found some nice Walker flanges that i think will work. Got the second round of bends from the exhaust guy and he expanded the 2 1/4" pieces so they fit snug inside the larger pipes. 4 bends and he tweaked those pieces $30, thought that was pretty good. While I was waiting for the exhaust flanges i started on the shifter linkage, what a mess not only is the factory design kind of crappy with a bell crank under the floor but every bushing is shot and also a couple of places that doesn't have bushings stock is going to need bushings. Took some measurements and ordered a few different ones from Mac master carr, was not able to find any listings anywhere else.
  15. No relay but putting one in is a good idea, actually two would be good, one for low beam and one for high beam. I would put them in the engine compartment and get the feed / power directly from the battery with a fuse in between, maybe the power point at the horn relay? here's a schematic I found online. I like to put relays on for the starter also.
  16. Yes that's why I bought a kit😁 seems to fit pretty good but needs some tweeks. Yes it's ok as long as I stay under the car but I'm sure you know how that works 50 trips back and forth.🌞πŸ₯΅
  17. Fitment of exhaust system has begun, this is going to take a while have to do quite a few "adjustments" and I'm working on the driveway and summer is starting to hit and my driveway is not a good place in the afternoon.
  18. A little rain ain't going to hurt it πŸ™‚ is your heater working? Car is looking good you sure have done s great job,,πŸ‘
  19. Trip to my exhaust supply guy, a lot cheaper than ordering from one of the big warehouses. Exhaust system on its way but have to make pipes to tie in to the manifolds, he made the flares out of 1 1/4" pipe since 2" was to big to attach to manifolds so after I'm done mocking up he will swage down the 2" pipe so that the 2 1/4" fits snug inside before welding. Found walker exhaust flanges on Amazon so we will see how that works out.
  20. Muffler's came today the rest is supposed to be here next week.
  21. Yes it just made sense since it was already off, just going to paint the core support so i can install the radiator and then start it and brake in the cam, but still quite a bit to do before i get there.
  22. Yes the starter bolts to the block, this block is a early 70s block but even my stock 64 was the same way so no problem. Way more room Is a relative term😁 you probably have NO room and i have very little, still tight that's why I don't want to run header's. Is going to be tight between the header pipe at the manifold and the starter motor cable since the stud is on the outside of the starter ( mini starter) have to make that piece anyway so I'll have to kick it out a bit and put some insulation on the cable. Exhaust system should be here next week. Muffler's arriving today
  23. Finally got time to drag the 32 out of the garage and all the stuff that was in the way so i could push the Lemans in and install the engine. Had read that's the th350 is supposed to be a direct replacement for the st300 but you know how that goes, can't believe everything you read but as it turned out it worked great. Also of course had to put the wheels back on after i painted them and i like how they turned out.. Was going to start hooking up the shifter and p brake but couldn't find the S hook for the brake and of course the shifter rods and linkage needs to be taken apart because they look like crap, something to do with 60 yr old car that's been sitting forever.
  24. Not much done lately, had a college graduation and retrieval of a kid get in the way and another kid graduate from highschool in a week. Got the air cleaner painted, trying to figure out some other loose ends, upper radiator hose seems to be a issue, ordered a new one from Ames and it's totally different then the one that came with the car I've had no luck when searching online, got an email in to Ames and next step might just be to bring my old hose to the auto parts store. Started resealing the trans, are slowly getting closer to installing engine and trans in the car. Some other loose ends i have been looking at is the bracket for the throttle and kick down cable, my old bracket don't work on the Edelbrock intake so i have to modify it or add to it. Looking at plugg wires and i was thinking a boot with 45 degree would work good on the plugg side but not a lot available.s straight Will have to do if nothing comes up. Found a crossover part number for my crank case filter, apparently this is a California car only item on this year model.
