  1. That's a lot better than mine, i know there was supposedly a different set up then mine on the earlier cars and A/C cars are different than none A/C cars. I have seen several cars that are like mine so it is the way it came from the factory. If you look in the one diagram without A/C it uses two belts but in parallel not like yours. If yours had A/C you would have to have a crank pulley with three groves also and mine only has two. I'm going to run it the way it is and we'll have to see how it goes. If need be I'll get rid of the p/s pump and install a electric pump instead πŸ˜‹
  2. The first one is what i believe you are talking about and the second is what mine is, and all different setups that year.
  3. Apparently this is the factory setup on a ac car in 64 and 65, there was supposedly a different set up earlier that year. I'm going to give it a try and see how it goes, apparently it's important that you use the right belt. A buddy of mine had a good idea for plan B if it doesn't work, remove the ps pump and install a electric pump instead, i have seen this done by him on several cars and it works great. I think I have figured out what starter to get, power master 9510. I was going to use the factory starter but that didn't workout so i figured this is the time to upgrade.
  4. Got the alternator and ps pump mocked up an realize that there's only one belt driving the alternator and ps pump, the alternator don't have very much wrap, is it going to slip? Especially if I install a higher amp alternator. Tested the power master starter i got from my buddy but it doesn't work. It can only be clocked in two different positions and in one the solenoid hits the manifold and in the other the housing hits the pan rail. So what mini starters are you guys using that don't cost a small fortune?
  5. Yeah, for now it might just have to go back in to the box where I found it πŸ˜„
  6. No gasket, looks like it was part of a bracket or something, what got me was the fact that it has engine color. Here is the backside.
  7. It does but the bolt holes don't line up with that.
  8. Ok smart people, found this one in one of the boxes of parts that came with the car. What is it for? Did i forget to put it on?
  9. I guess i need a better phone πŸ˜… cause i still can't make out what it says.
  10. Started to put the Edelbrock carb back together after cleaning and figured i would record the size of the jets for primary and secondary do i know later if need be. But how the you know what do you read the damned numbers on those? Goggled it and it doesn't help much because the numbers are soo SMALL.
  11. What is the diameter on this one vs your stock one?
  12. Not header's just the pipes that go up to the stock manifolds, πŸ˜„ since this is a fairly stock engine i don't feel like messing with header's. Building header's sounds like a lot of work. I have a exhaust fab place where I can buy the bends and he can probably make the flares at the manifold end just have to get some flanges Wich he might have also.
  13. Picked up a starter from a buddy that had one leftover. I also found a exhaust kit at Summit racing from Thrush that is reasonable priced, it's complete all the way up to where header's would be so all i have to do is make some header pipes, it comes with 14" muffler's so i will have to think about that one for a bit.
  14. Pulled the cap of the starter solenoid and the contacts looked pretty bad so i cleaned them and started to put it back together and the wires broke for the S terminal stud, i don't think that is repairable so I'm going to declare it dead. The guy that gave me the 350 engine core has been talking about possibly having a almost new starter so i will pick it up on Tuesday to see if it fits. Starting to figure out what to do for a exhaust system, all the kits are pretty expensive. I think the plan is to get the tail pipes and the brackets, buy mufflers and make the front half. I have two mufflers in mind both Dynomax Turbo mufflers, one is 14" long and the other is 20" long, will the 20" muffler fit under my car?
  15. Acxico 1Pcs 0-9999 Ohm Simple Resistance Box Precision Variable Resistor For Physical Electricity Experiment Teaching https://www.amazon.com/dp/B085WS33BH/ref=cm_sw_r_apan_i_0YHDXW3788JQSXZVB8N0?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1. Check this one out, a shop i used to work for had a snap on version of this.
  16. Will do, yes you are right the winding didn't get any voltage, checked it with the meter, did not know that you could take the solenoid apart that make sense, tank you πŸ˜€
  17. Put the starter back together after replacing the brushes and painting it, hooked it up to a battery with jumper cables hoping it would be ok to use at least for now the gear comes out everytime but the motor doesn't always want to turn, hooked up the voltmeter and it seems the solenoid is iffy, so should I spend some more money on this one or just bite the bullet and buy a new one? They are a bit pricey.
  18. Yes i remembered that i have a catalog for Bonneville from both Ames and opgi and you are right i don't see one, to bad they have one for lemans.
  19. Looks like Ames might have something, have you checked their catalog? They have one for my car.
  20. Perfect, that's all I need, looks like i need to adjust the forward rod a bit in the wise. Thanks
  21. So when you play with those resistor's connect a voltmeter on the tach side and see what you have, if you connect it without the resistor first and measure the voltage and amperage draw you should be able to figure out what resistor you need with ohms law. I would probably go with the trial and error and measure the voltage at the tach😁.
  22. Ok so here's another one, how are the top rods for the alternator be installed, sounds easy right? But they don't line up or they will bind if i force them, both on the back or front or one on each side? That is not the alternator I'm going to use but is the one that came with the car but it was not installed.
  23. That sounds like a number for a capacitor a resistor should be in ohm, did he recommend a capacitor?
  24. Yes the fitting you see sticking out of the air cleaner is actually part of that filter holder on the inside.
  25. Ok this is how it's going to be.
