  1. Hey welcome Henry! Yeah man we'd LOVE to see the pics of that ol' panel. We love Pontiac pics around here!!!
  2. So, I figured I'd start with the easiest solution first, the bulbs and then mess with the wiring if that didn't help. I pulled the driver's side taillight bulb and seen a burnt spot, "shit, these are my painting bulbs"! Pulled the passenger's side and 1 filament was glowing red like a cigarette lighter. Popped in the new bulbs and all gauge and cluster lights shut off. Pull the head light knob and all popped on. Yes, I pulled knob and pushed it in about a hundred times justa to make sure. The pics are of the bulb's I put in while painting so I didn't get paint in the socket. Thanks again guys, I would've never thought a bulb would cause that kind of an issue. Was so busy today I totally forgot to get pics of exhaust tips. I'll try too tomorrow.
  3. How in the heck did you know that! Seriously though, your knowledge never ceases to amaze me Frost one.
  4. Ohhh hell yeah. I've never been a disco man myself but damn that man CAN dance! That said I did go with blue lights, and I do have a couple of special touches with purple crushed velvet hidden in the car.
  5. Thanks guys, so it doesn't sound like either of you think the turn signal switch justa "went out". So I will check the bulbs and pull the console again and go back through it. On a side note, I did get the exhaust tips put on in between rain showers today. They stick out about an inch farther than I wanted but I'm going to leave them and see if they grow on me before trimming them. I'll get pics and post them in the next day or two. Thanks again guys.
  6. So, I justa asked my son, he says he is curtain that the lights were not on as of 2 weeks ago or before.
  7. Maybe Kiwi, but to the best of my knowledge it wasn't doing this 2 weeks ago. Wouldn't a crossed circuit have been doing this all along? I will definitely start looking at the brake circuit tomorrow bro.
  8. OK, so couple of nights ago I was putting up my tools after working on Rosey. I noticed my console gauges were lit up. I figured myself or my son had turned them on or left them on while I as reconnecting the electrical to the console. Nope, switch was off. When I pulled the knob out the gauge light flickered off once then on really quick. I noticed at that time that the tach was also lit up, which is wired into the same circuit. I disconnected the battery and called it a night. Christmas eve I found myself tearing apart the console and double checking all the wiring. All looked good. As I was reassembling the console it got dark and I found myself using a flashlight. When I finished and turned off the flashlight, I realized the dash lights were also on. So, all the gauges are all wired into the same circuit as the dash lights. Pull the knob and all gauge lights and dash lights pop on. The dash lights are dimmer I guess because of it being a 1963. When I turn the head light knob the lights dim as they should. I decided to try the turn signal, when I clicked the turn signal arm down all lights turned off. Clicked back up to the middle position and the light came back on. Clicked the arm up and everything went off again. Clicked back into the middle and they came back on. I thought I'd get your thoughts before ripping apart the column. My thoughts are its probably that turn signal switch. What are yalls thoughts?
  9. Yeah man I love the shape of that console. Can't wait to see it finished! Thanks for showing all of us what you've got going on bro.
  10. Yeah bro, I actually thought they were of your car. It's still an awesome looking console. Can't wait to see it in your car or at least the mockup. Justa keep the pictures coming. Who knows who you might inspire.
  11. Merry Christmas and Happy holidays. Have fun, be safe and God bless yall.
  12. Thanks bro, still nervous though. Seems like every time I get her ready to drive something else happens. Justa keeping my fingers crossed
  13. Man, that console look right at home, looks awesome! I really like the shape of it, and the red dash lights look good. I justa learned what a smart choice the red color actually is in another thread that Last Indian posted. Check that one out if you get chance, it's a good read. Keep us posted on your progress bro and update us in pictures when you can. We do love pictures around here.
  14. She was brought in on a flatbed after sitting for 9 years and dropped in my back yard. Got her running good enough to drive it from back yard to driveway but there was a tapping from what sounded like the bottom end of the engine. Decided to rebuild engine. Started her up with valves adjusted like COMP CAMS tech recommended and broke and bent every valve except 1. COMP did replace the broken valves. (Thank god they record conversations). Reinstalled new valves. Drove around the block then down to tire place to have new tires mounted, less then 3 miles. On the way home the transmission blew. That was probable 2 years ago, I had the trans rebuilt (that's the only part of the car I did not do myself). She was started a couple times since then. With upgrading the brakes, body work and paint she didn't get started last year. So, I might have driven her a total of 10-15 miles since the original rebuilt about 5 years ago.
  15. Got the exhaust hung today and started her up. Sounded good but had a few pops, I'm thinking its justa the old gas. I did have to remove the rubber brake line that drops down to the rearend. When I ran the new brakes, the exhaust was off. Now it's a bit too close to the pipes, I'll reroute it and get brakes adjusted then hopefully test drive her.
  16. Looks great bro! Keep the pictures coming, can't wait to see your progress.
  17. Hey welcome bro, great ride!
  18. Yes sir, you did a fantastic job bro!
  19. 1st, thank you for that bit of very interesting information. With that said I would personally stay with the red. After all the work that has gone into those custom pieces it would be a shame to change the color justa on them and make them look like an afterthought. Justa my 2 cents bro. Again, amazing work Last Indian. By the way, I wish I had that knowledge a couple weeks ago... when I changed every light inside my car except the bright light indicator to BLUE. The bright light indicator stayed red since it was already red.
  20. OK so on this segment of "Wrongway I'm pretty sure that's NOT how you do that"! I'm back to working on the steering wheel. I started this project a couple years ago, got pissed off and hung it up. But with this cold snap called winter I figured it would be good inside work. So here is the current set up I've been using on the drill press which really seems to help knock down the epoxy resin and is a lot faster then doing it by hand. Then 17,541 ( <- estimated) stupid 1" strips of varying grits of sandpaper. I think one more time sanding then one more coat of resin and I'll be able to move on and redo the painted area... again. So the last pics are after a coat of resin is applied.
