  1. Why did I not see this thread before???? Here's what's playing right now on my comp I'm hoping one of these days they actually tour NA... or at least a big festival. With reasonable notice California isn't out of the question for a concert road trip (again)!!!
  2. It's -15C here and supposedly getting colder tomorrow... yet it's not snowing...
  3. The good Dear snowplow driver: Thank you for pulling to the side right away and letting me pass. The bad Dear 4X4 driver: Thank you for ending up on your side in the ditch and proving to everyone how 4 wheel drive, off road tires, a corner and ice don't mix. Dear idiot in the blue minivan with all season tires doing 30km/h on the highway: Thank you for driving in both the left and right lanes at the same time. I hope that after that 18 wheeler passed and forced you into the right lane that maybe you'll stay there and realise that yes, you NEED winter tires!!!
  4. Yes... these tires claw through anything!!! Actually, there was very little snow stuck up in there. Just that hanging bit where a mudflap would go. I gave it a light boot when I got home and it fell right off... even had the plastic dot pattern of the rocker panel!!! Sliding? That's why I turn the traction and stability contol off!!! The systems in the Vibe get in the way and are too sensitive, unless of course, you have the intention of driving like an 85 year old woman. Sliding is very controllable, mind you this is the road to the ski hill (opening thursday) so I wasn't driving balls-to-the-wall (we have forestry service roads for that)!!! Pam, eh.... If the wife ever buys any I'll have to try it! Here's a whack of pics from last year: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=39772 And some frozen lake fun: http://forums.genvibe.com/zerothread?id=39909 You Guys/Gals in Florida and Texas are missing out!!! BTW They don't use salt here, they use some liquid crap (that re-freezes when it get's too watered down with snow) along with sand and gravel..... lots of kidney bean sized gravel...
  5. Problem: Snow will stick... and being LED's they won't generate enough heat to melt it off!!! The regular lights with LED's here tend to get a little blocked when the wind howls... It's too complex... people here have a hard time grasping the concept of "stop on red"... (not to mention the 3 SECOND red light delay which makes everyone think they can get away with it) A simple 10 second Countdown timer attached beside the green light or pedestrian signal (love those countdown ones) would suffice!
  6. Just a little sunday drive!!! A balmy -14C up on the mountain!!!
  7. Given all the body rust, I'm wondering what the undercarriage looks like... and if it's just going to be used as a winter beater find something that'll give better gas mileage!!! IMO... $700 or walk away!
  8. Get the winter tires!!! They're worth every penny spent... even if you get the cheapest, chinese copied tire, they'll still be so much better then any all-season!!! My vibe runs Firestone Winterforce, fully studded!!!
  9. Had it for a couple of years... With the old Sunfire, even have the matching tarps....
  10. Very nice.... right colour too....
  11. Got my Vibe brand new on June 4th/09. Out the door for $16'7XX. Base model, no options not even A/C!!!
  12. Vernon, BC Well... it's true... but at least your 'beer' is a lot cheaper!!!
  13. My name's Ryan, I'm 29 from Vernon, BC! I'm an active member of GenVibe and hope to be around here often as well! Here I am and here are my rides! Time to look around!!!
