    Question??

LOL If somebodys gonna take the time to get down there N look. Give em something to look at! Indoor shows I use mirrors to show underside.
  7. I used rubbing compound on a Q-tip stayin away from the white marker lines, Then JUSTA dot of thinner on a rag to make the white pop back to original. Finish with Meguires. Then used same method on the lens N polished er right up. Whatta difference!
  8. Thankz man. Been workin today on the OL hood insulation pad. NASTY...Gotta do something about that. The plan seems to be working so far. Will be my next post to the thread. Good or bad.
  9. I could hardly read my GTO gauges even with the dash lights on. So I pulled it and found that when they gutted the car for racing. They pulled the dash pad, radio yanked or cut ALL wiring and spray bombed what was left black. overspray got in behind the lens and all over the gauges. Add about 2 lbs of dirt N bugs with the lights and idiot lights missing and open holes. I had no idea the gauge background was blue!!! Only the tach was true black. Hours of cleaning, reassembling, reglued some edges of the wood vaneer, hand painted all silver trim, The AM radio I was screwed on, buying from EBAY, had the brackets missing from the ON/OFF switch leaving no way to properly mount the radio. Made new and installed. Then I could add the correct radio knobs (25.00) to match the rest of the dash. Radio was JUSTA plug to fill the dash, but was suppose to be working and also showed it came with the correct knobs. BIG FIGHT...I LOST all the way around. 65.00 total + work to even install it. Looks good all cleaned up. I can laugh now. Got er all back together N rubbed off some of the nubbs from the new tires, this includes a braking test as well. (short driveway) and took Momma N the dawg for the 1st cruise of 2012 to see if the fan schroud I made would help with overheat issues. Worked well on a very cool night here stickin to 190, but it has a 180 thermostate. I'm not done with overheat issues yet. I have no idea how to link this with the 1st post in my progression thread. But its here.
  10. C'mon Valid....We have the party N crakers, YOU bring the cheese!

    Question??

Slicks would break me into 11's. 11.5 with easy tweaks. Rear coilovers are adj/stiff for pullin the trailor and I have small jets in the Holley. Also backed down the timing. Detonation on pump gas. For crusin/shows it still pulls down 24mpg @ 60 on reg pump gas. Still has more than enough for 2nd gear DISPLAY of power. My battery is now behind the rear tire in the hole from the stock muffler. Weight transfer help and much easier to get to for indoor shows where you have to disconnect and prove it. Instead of pulling all my aluminum in the engine compartment. Most judging is done @ night when the building is empty. I was marked down once because they couldn't check the batt. Solved the prob, but NOT legal to run on a strip with exposed battery .
  12. Factory is always a good choice. I've always used Diehard for batteries. Got that from my DAD.
  13. LOL we had cell phones too. They weighted about 20lbs and you carried them in a shoebox size case. KEEP ON TRUCKIN!

    Question??

Got the power to weight thing figured out too. Sunbird was setup for sportsman roadracing, Oversize sways, urethane bushings, adj/front shocks, adj/coilover rears. 308 posi rear gears, Muncie 4 spd. Did well, never won, always top 5. Spun a rod bearing, built a 455 and installed including front springs. Project ended when I would have had to extend the nose to install a radiator. So back to the V6 and wanted to stand out. Blower Drive service in Cal, was the only company that would work with me. Cutting down my Elderbrock intake and welding on the blower plate (including a blowby valve to keep from launching if it backfired) Sent me unmachined pulleys/spacers and I finished the install. Had the 1st Blown STREET V6, and BDS had all the spec's to sell a package. To this day I've only seen one other. That was on a Chevy and ran on Pinks years ago. The blower is a major obstruction of view on right hand corners. Not roadrace material, but she still handles like a slotcar. Was at a Popular Hotrodding show many years ago and they let us line up for timed 1/4's. Ran a 12.3 @ 111mph with plunty of tire spin. Could improve on that if I wanted to straightline race it. It's JUSTA my showcar.
  15. Wrong! That would be my classic collection of 8 tracks, cassettes were used in handheld recorders back then. LMAO
  16. Agreed on the suspension. Wouldn't trade my 421 SD tripower (the Pontiac holy grail for the time) if someone bought me one AND installed it. Put your a$$ in the air like ya JUSTA don't care!
  17. Justa put a DIEHARD gold in the GTO 2 weeks ago. 3yr free replacemant, 875 CCA. More than ya need. 99.00 Optima's are waaay overpriced and I've heard more dislike than like from owners.
  18. Mine was soooo long ago, we used the HIGH TECH poloriod. Watch the pic develop in front of your eyes....Simply amazing.
