65 GTO Project Car

Recommended Posts

A longtime friend of mine passed away recently and his widow is wanting to sell the last of his GTOs. He had already dismantled it and was just starting on the body work.

I believe the car is all there, plus several extra GTO parts that go with it.

It’s a 65 4-speed/3 2BBL car that I’m told is all original. I’m working with another friend of the family to verify those facts.

Looking to see any of you know of anyone looking for a project car, or if you have any idea of the value of the car? It is located northwest of McKinney, Texas.

I’m including some pictures and have more if you care to see them. I believe they want to sell everything at once to the same buyer, including all of the extra parts.

Thanks,

Rick

I looked at this car yesterday and proved that it's not all original, but the frame and driveline still look brand new from the frame-off restoration work done years ago. All the floor pans and trunk pan appear to be in excellent rust free condition. All of the wiring and plumbing also appears to be very well done. Unfortunately everything soft in the interior will have to be replaced. The body is bare metal with some filler in low spots, but no signs of collision repair that I could see. Front fenders and hood are still painted and will need to be media blasted and started from scratch. The car was originally painted Mission Beige with a Parchment interior. I have more pictures if anyone is interested in seeing them.

Happy to report that a friend from the Morning Maniacs car club has decided to purchase the car. Nice to see friend's car sold to another friend so I can watch progress of the restoration. RIP Don Mills, your car is in good hands again.
