Looking to by some new exhaust for my G8. I was just wondering what you guys prefer for cat-backs,axle-backs,mid-pipes, and also headers. The cheaper the better. But if you prefer the more expensive please let me know also.

Wouldn't have a clue whats out there for the G8. Sorry

Granted it is the GXP shown here I drool heavily over the Corsa system.

Corsa is nice but very expensive and a there are enough people who have had issues with the Corsa in the rain to make me leery about buying them. For many GT owners, GXP mufflers (axleback) are just the right amount of purr for them. If you want more growl though, I like the Solo systems (I only have the axleback J-pipes on my GXP but they sound great!) Full catback systems are even better and I'm hoping to do a full exhaust with mine someday. I've also seen plenty of talk on the G8 forums about Pedders and Kooks but I'm not familiar with either.

I have experience with cat-backs on my 3rd gen Trans Am only. They are Edelbrock and sound great.

My question is what do want from your exhaust system? Do you just want it to sound aggressive? Trying to get more horsepower? Allow the motor to breath better? Set the foundation for power adders later on? The answers to those questions should help you answer your own question. If you are going for more power and engine mods, then you need to engineer the total package. If it is sound only - go with axle back. The more power you add, the more you need to re-engineer the total exhaust - including hi-performance catalytic converters.

So what are your plans for your G8?
