Trans-am Headlight Motor

Hey guys...and girls!

I have a '95 Trans-am, my pass. side headlight motor burnt out. Looking to get one off ebay (avg. around $200). My GM dealers listed at $500 (Employee Discount).

Any suggestions on other places to track down a Headlight Motor?

Have you considered taking the motor out and having it repaired at a local electric motor repair shop? I did that with my pool filter motor (different animal - I know), it needed the bushing replaced and cleaning. Cost me $100 to repair and $250-300 to replace.

I've heard people say it could be "the gear"? Which means it has power, just the internal gear needs replacing, I can get the part for $20. Apparently it happens on the Vette's motor alot too?

The Fiero headlight motors of course have issues too. I bought a headlight rebuild kit from Rodney Dickman for my Fiero.
