The original plan was to have my 1931 Pontiac hot rod finished to drive to this year’s convention, but the car gods had a different plan. So we drove our daily Terrain to our first stop in Grosse Pointe to take in the Eyes On Design show. Here’s a few photos:

Then it was on to the convention. My wife was asked to help in early registration which is where I got to introduce myself to Frosty, as he was also helping.

Before I forget, I would like to thank all of the volunteers from the Michigan area chapters who stepped up to help make this event enjoyable!

Friday night parade through Pontiac!

Absolutely love this one !!

It was an absolute pleasure to spend time with 31pontiac and his wife. I wish I had more time to spend with them over drinks or dinner. The convention was super stupid busy.

This was my second convention but the first one that literally didn’t try to kill me either. I consider that a win!!!!

Unfortunately this is where my convention time ends. My wife had been nursing a cough that got progressively worse from late Monday on, and after the parade Friday night she developed a rash on her back and arms. No improvement Saturday morning so we left for home.

I was hoping to meet several FP friends during our visit, but Frosty was my only contact. Also missed seeing a few POCI members that I hadn’t seen since the 1979 convention at the Tech Center.
