‘67 & ‘68 Firebirds

Featured Replies

Question for the experts….

Specific to the ‘67 & ‘68 Firebirds….and their distinct front end chrome bumper nose….

Occasionally I see a Pontiac emblem on the front center of the chrome bumper - more rare than not. What did the added emblem signify (option package? specific models? engine type? etc.?). I notice it on a variety of configurations, but cannot determine the representation.

IIRC the Pontiac crest on the bumper was only on Firebirds with a 400ci engine. Was the same for 1969.

That being said, there are a lot of cars with the incorrect bumper and emblem installed due to owner preferences, incorrect restorations, following bad information online, etc.
