How to: fix broken stops on Firebird headlights.

OK... GM did some pretty stupid designing as far as 4th gen (93-02) pop-up headlights are concerned. one of them being the plastic biased gear driven by a steel screw gear for teh raising and lowering mechanism. that can be fixed according to this guy's instructions:http://www.bfranker.badz28.com/headlightfix/index.htm#Ordering

another problem is that the headlight mounting frame is one piece of very brittle plastic that runs the entire width of the car. The position stops for the headlight mechanism are molded into this bar of plastic. After a wreck, I had to get a new headlight mounting frame and put it in the car. after installing it, we realized that both stops were missing on the passenger side (as well as the third bolt-hole for the motor)

The headlight mounts on most of the 90's cars are stupid... our '98 GP has been in multiple wrecks, the guy who fixed it has the pass. headlight held on with a zip-tie. Believe it or not, that's one piece of metal I'll be getting at the junk yard next trip.... ahaha
