Wanted for 1960 Pontiac

Featured Replies

I am looking to buy a 1960 Pontiac power brake booster and master cylinder as a core to send out and have rebuilt. If you have a unit for sale, or know where I can get one, please let me know. Appreciate it, Rick

I have tried Dessert Auto, Frank's Pontiacs and French Lake with no success. Thanks.

Thanks for the info JUSTA6. I already had checked eBay. I'm trying to retain the original, if I can. If I have no other choice, then I guess I go with the upgrades. Thanks again for your help. Rick

Hello Rick,

Your rebuildable brake booster will be at one of the places below . . . maybe.

Dessert Valley Auto came through. They have a rebuildable power brake booster and master cylinder unit as a core that they are sending to me. Thanks everyone for your help in locating it. Really appreciate it. Rick

Any recommendations on where to send this unit, (power brake booster and power master cylinder),  to get rebuilt/restored? Let me know. Thanks in advance, Rick

Hello,

  Yes, here you go.

https://www.brakematerialsandparts.com/booster-rebuilding

I could not find either a new or a rebuilt brake booster when I needed it - no cores at anyplace that they could rebuild.  So, I got a booster off of the 1970 parts car that I have been using to put my 70 Catalina back together. A rebuilt booster did eventually show up on Rock Auto after I sent this one in for rebuild.

Eight weeks and $330.00 later and it is back in my hands. It only recently got back to me, but it looks beautiful.  They can also send things out for replating if you want it - for more money, of course.  They can re-do your master cylinder and wheel cylinders, too.

Rick

YearOne use to have a master brake booster restoration service. I did that to my '72's brake booster, which included re-plating.
