Chromed 8 lug rims

Recommended Posts

Recently, my friend of about a year and owns a 1964 Pontiac GP, attended another Car Show together. I have seen his car many time, but noticed something odd about his 8 lugs that I had never noticed before. He has chromed 8 lug rims; no trim rings. I have never seen chromed 8 lug rims before, and must admit, I think they look cleaner in design that 8 lugs with trim rings. I joked about his 8 lugs being one-of-a-kind and that someone spent a boat load of money getting them chromed. Today, I saw, what appears to be a 1963 Pontiac GP show on Facebook at another car show with chromed 8 lug rims. That got my curiosity going. So I did a search on chromed 8 lug rims for sale. The info I found is attached below and hopefully helps anyone who is interested. The picture of the bare chromed 8 lug rim was found on H.A.M.B. site, a set for sale. BOP sells both 15" and 16" chrome 8 lug rims. J&G does restoration and relining on 8 lug hubs.

So, how many of you, that run the 8 lug setup, have chromed 8 lug rims? I would like to know. Thanks, Rick

Thanks for sharing Rick. BOP has been around a long time and are a great speciality parts supplier. Similarly, I run a chromed version of the Rally II wheel from Wheel Vintques (a.k.a. Coker Tire) on my Lemans.

I have no idea how many guys run chromed 8-lug rims. I agree with you though, they do look classy.

Have no idea where my post to this went last night. Thankz for sharing the info.  I have never owned an 8 lugger car, but have always loved the rims!
