. Yup, but I can get Vernors down here at Meijers. I made Boston coolers one afternoon for my wife and kids and they thought I was crazy for mixing ginger ale and ice cream.

Okay boys. On Friday I thought I was heading to the M1 Concourse to meet with the Widetrackers. Well that quickly turned into a cluster f*ck. It seems the guy who organized the thing for the club never read / acknowledge my email response to participate (which I sent 2 hours after he sent his original email in June). So I had no credentials to get into the M1 at all with my car. Best he could do was to give me a pair of spectator passes for each day ($50 value each). This meant parking my car some distance away at the old Pontiac truck plant grounds (Centerpoint Parkway) and taking a shuttle bus back to M1 and then hiking on foot around the concourse and track. 

So before I wasted time doing that, I met up at a nearby Tim Hortons' with Justa, his oldest daughter and son-in-law Mike, heck I even got to pet Ozzie. What a nice boy! We cruised Woodward from Pontiac to Ferndale and back. We picked up most of our dream cruise souvenirs at the Shrine of the Little Flower Catholic Church's elementary school parking lot. Most other stands weren't open yet.

After Mike, Justa and I completed our lap of Woodward, they went home and I headed to the M1 Concourse, sans car, beverage cooler, tent, and chair. I took my small back pack that help my camera and some lenses, and some reading glasses.

A supercharged Avanti. Cool. Makes me think of Dualquad Pete's old Avanti.

This gorgeous Imperial roadster was built by my buddy Murray Phaff. It's a $250k all day long. Chrysler never build an Imperial Roadster convertible. Here is a real Imperial next to his....

Murray told me that it took 4 Imperials to build his. It's still a stunner after all these years.

A rare '58 GMC Suburban pickup truck. This is it's final year as a pickup - only 67 were made.

The Pontiac Transportation Museum were there with the Oakland and the '40 GMC.

I love the front license plate because it's true.

M1 was celebrating the 90the anniversary of the deuce coupe. So there was a few to look at. Here are some of my favorites. Flatheads forever!

Cars were arranged in classes all along the track and infield. So all the imports were together. All the FIrebirds were together, all the Camaros, all Corvettes, all muscle cars, etc. You get the idea. So no car clubs were together. Everyone was in a car category on Friday. Car clubs were left to Saturday.

Somebody we know????? ReveredGTO perhaps?

Friday night saw a rare local celebrity sighting. I heard about this on local radio station WOMC on Saturday. They confirmed this sighting. This was taken near Duggan's Irish Pub.

So we start the 1 car length at a time trip back towards Pontiac.  Was very surprised the GTO hasn't been above 200 since replacing the entire cooling system years ago.  Now pushing 230, trans is slipping and a huge miss developed.  Finally got off Woodward to cruise Telegraph N back to 59.  My daughter Beth N Mike were still waiting for a tow truck.  7hrs.

Wrappin up the 2022 Dream Cruise.  We pulled in to wait with Mike for the wrecker N let the rides cool down a bit.  Got his car on the flatbed, used Frosty's sign to sum this years cruise.  He then walks over to my car.....I blame him from there on, but he did display the sign with his car too with no probs. Everybody left for home N Frosty headed back to Woodward to catch up with MR & MRS  Notallthere, who made it over from Canada.  Never caught up IndymanJoe.  So I hit my key.....Nothin.  Fried my starter.  So Mike (not only my son in law, but also my hero)  Got his car off the flatbed N came back with his trailer to get me home.  Rolled the GTO in the garage JUSTA in the nick of time as the rain started.   THE END....that's my story and I'm stickin to it!

Rig sure looked good with the GTO on it.  Justa pretented it was a trailer Queen

Saturday.....

Justa described how we all met up, him, his son-in-law and his oldest daughter, and JustaG6 showed up with Red (her G6) and her fiance. I brought the Roadmonster out instead of the Trans Am, just to give it some exercise.

What was great was some little girl came up to JUSTAG6's car with a stick hands from a sprinkle donut and touched her car. She said "EEEyooo, That kid touched my car! Sprinkle fingers!" We all laughed at her while she wiped off the finder prints.

Sprinkle prints! LOL!

I have no idea what this is....I never saw a manufacturer's name on it.

When we said "Woodward or Bust" - Mike choose the latter.

As Justa informed you, I got a text message will staring at this carnage from notallthere and his missus. They were cruising Woodward too. It was a last minute decision on their part. I guess they were avoiding family by taking Envy out for a cruise. Envy is the missus' Fiero. So I met up with them at a neighbor restaurant near Pontiac. They were on their way back to Canuckistan to met with their nieces and nephews.

After leaving the notalltheres, I headed home. I was 2 miles from the garage mahal when the skies opened up and poured rain all over the Buick Roadmonster. However, I stayed dry once I pulled into the garage mahal.

Woodward was a good time in spite of everything. It is truly a celebration of all things automotive.

What strikes me is while we all love our own cars & baby them. When you look at all the different makes & models of car we all know & remember, but forget about till we see them again, is, I’m like a kid in the candy store! I want that one, no that one, no that one, oh please can I just have one of each?!

One last thing about Woodward......

I ran across these yoyo's heading northbound on Saturday. You never know what you are going to see on Woodward. This year was no exception. However, these guys reminded me of something.....

Was hoping you got some shots of these morons weaving in and out of traffic @ 50mph.  This makes me as angry as the bikes doing wheelies between stopped cars.  They fall and you hit em.....YOU screw up your car AND go to jail.  All 3 cut me off. As always, had fun cruisin with ya BRO.

I had fun with you and the clan too bud. Woodward is always a fun time. The M1 debacle didn't ruin my enthusiasm for the day and the event itself. Hard not to enjoy that much sensory overload of rolling paint, chrome and tetanus. I can't wait until next year!

Bingo!! I’ve said it before! Modern man is an arrogant moron! Sorry! Not really! He thinks he’s so smart but there is very very little he has discovered or invented! He has improved upon things, but discovered/invented? Not much! Indoor plumbing? 6000 years ago. Paved roads 6000 years ago. Calculator? 4500 years ago. Cruse ships with running water, swimming pools & powered bulge pumps 2800 years ago. War ships with missiles, 3000 years ago.
