Hello all dont really post much but have a question for all  i have a 1970 gto with 14" rally II and drum brakes all around am looking to do a front disc brake conversion on my car for better stopping power and also had a friend give me 15" rally II rims i am in thr process of restoring am looking into the firestone wide ovals as i would like to keep the car as stock as possible was wondering if anyone else are using the wide oval and would they recommend me going that route and yes i will get them as the radial version any feed back will be appreciated and please be kind thank you all in advance

Most aftermarket front disc brake conversion kits force you into using a 15" rim because of the size of their rotor. That said, the stock factory front disc brake set-up maintained the use of the stock 14" rims. So if you use OEM/OER parts, you can stay with the stock 14" rims. Your choice.

Nothing wrong with the wide oval tires. My personal preference would also to purchase the radial versions from Coker or whomever your tire distributor of choice is. Radials are a superior tire to the original bias ply design of the day. So unless I am going for 100 points in a points judged show, use whatever tire you want. Its your car and your wallet.
