My wife and I are going there in September. Does anyone have any recommendations as to what to do, eat, see and shop.

Your first time there? I'd say do most of the tourist stuff:

The Duck tours

Follow the "Freedom Trail"

Get a tour of Fenway Park

Quincy Market (Interesting places for lunch, stores and other things)

Go to the actual Cheers near the Park, not the one at Quincy Market

Other historical tours

There's a LOT of things to do but these are the main ideas of the tourist stuff

Do you know anything about the Ghost tour?

Yes Cheers was number two next to the whale watching.

Not much, maybe Joe knows more. Heard of it but never did it.

I have not heard of it.

  • 2 months later...

So we are going to Fenway, Whale Watching tour, Freedom tour, the market, Cheers, our hotel is only one or two miles from downtown we are walking it all. Since the boss and I are fans of Diners Drive-Ins and Dives we are going to Mr Bartley's Burger Cottage in Cambridge and to see the town. Also if there is time we want to go to Salem -- I heard there is some good BBQ there.

Seems like a great time, all the typical "tourist" stuff to do in Boston along with the stuff you "have to do" when you go there :pop_corn:

Salem is an interesting town, I've only been there once but did a couple of the "witch hunt" tours and as well walked the town. Didn't go to an awesome BBQ place though lol.

Should be fun! Check out MIT if you have the time, its a cool campus. Lots of interesting buildings and such around there.

When we get there I will drop you a line as to the hotel we are staying at. There is a brewery near by so we could arm curl a few brown bottles.
