I'm putting my bid in for is Caddy! With that said we will scoop up your ashes and spread them over the Woodward Dream Cruise next year buddy. -
So a couple months ago we were talking about Stabil fuel additive. I justa had an experience I wanted to share with yall. I've been really bust the last couple of months with getting everything thing ready for our wedding vow renewal, getting the Delta running to sell and a million other things. In that time iv kinda been neglecting my poncho. So, the Delta got stable put in her about a month and a half ago while working on it, the Harley about 2 weeks ago, the Pontiac yesterday. I added the Stabil to the gas can mixed it up and poured it in. Flipped the kill switch, turned on the power to the car and watched for the fuel pump to fill the glass fuel filter. Once filled I noticed fuel dumping out of the carb. After hitting the kill switch and drying the carb I looked it over, nothing stood out. Had my son hit the switch and I see fuel bubbling out of what I was guessing to be vents or a bypass on each side of the carb next to the metering rods. When I opened the butterfly there is a full stream of fuel squirting. My first thought was too much fuel pressure or metering rod issue. Since this is a brand new Edelbrock AVS2 I decided to call tech support before taking it apart. He agreed it was fuel pressure or metering rods stuck open. I asked what would cause that and he said fuel. He then asked if I had any kind of fuel additive in my fuel, something like Stabil. I told him that's what I was doing was winterizing the car today. He had me tap the back, front, and sides of the carb near the rods with a screwdriver. I put the power to the car and no leaks. I asked him if I needed to pull the rods and clean them. He said no, not if your using Stabil you don't, Stabile will clean them up, justa let the car run for 5 or 10 min and it'll be good. Then informed me that Edelbrock recommends Stabil brand fuel treatment in all their products. I justa found this interesting and thought I would share it with ya.

Thanks bud. I think it's pretty cool to. The grill and taillights were a 1 year thing. I love the taillights, there called "waterfall" taillights. Now I justa need to finish putting her together and list her so I can get back to my GP.

I'll try to get some pics of it tomorrow as long as the rain stops. BUT if I get in trouble for posting a non Pontiac pic I'm telling the powers that be that you made me do it.
-
Yeah, I still don't have FB buddy. I justa can't bring myself to social media and I will get around to hood fitment before too long. Trying to get the Olds finished so I can get it listed for sale.
-
74 Grand Am's are cool, and those taillights are sick bro! Hope he gets back to you.
-
Hey Skeeter, welcome bro. Do you have any pictures of the car?
-
Agreed, eBay has new hood tach's from $200-$260 with free shipping and power antenna's for under $100. The antennas look to be aftermarket.
-
Yes sir Frosty, well worth the trip and the money.
-
Yes sir, that's what I'm hoping. Now I can't wait till spring so I can actually finish the body and get her painted! So can anybody date the hub caps? I was told the ones with the center cap logo came off of a 63 Grand Prix but I have no clue. I'm guessing the others to be early 60s Pontiac?
-
Yes Justa it was and the bumper is perfect also, no surface rust on the inside or anywhere. Yeah Kiwi, the hood, hinges and latch. They all look like there in super good condition. You can tell this stuff has been in storage for a while. The hood seems to lay flat. Its not bolted but it all seems to line up and looks really good so far.
-
Oh yeah, and then there’s this! No adjustments made and not bolted on yet. But I had to see how it fit.
