Well gave up Saturday evening.  Finally got a guy out today, New pump,  123 ft down, new pipe, new wiring, new pressure switch/gauge on the pressure tank.  Back flushed the well with his huge air compressor.  His boom was 35 ft tall.  Just left,  I need a freakin shower!!!  Have to run each faucet through the house 1st.

Pulling the GTO out for the 1st show of the year.  Started clankin N bangin...WTF?  Popped the hood N the alternator is in a speed wobble like no other.  The pivot bolt snapped off in the head.  Drilled N spent hours cleaning out the hole, destroyed every drill bit I own.  Broke easy out's.  finally tapped at normal size N too wobbly. Oblong hole.  Have to drill out further. Now worried as I'll have to drill the pivot hole in the alternator as well. Make the casting too thin and we are back to square 1.  JUSTA glad it didn't let go while I was up to speed driving it.

LOVE the FLAG! I know what a pain a well can be & I only have one to water my lawn.

Ok, it’s the bottom pivot bolt that treads into the cylinder head, right? If so look at keensert. They will work better than a helicoil for your issue. Do you now have the broken bolt out of the head now. Let me know if this is right. If it is I’ll explain further.

You know you'll never get caught up right?   GTO is still down, worried I will have to go too big with the bolt so buy the time I have to tap the alternator, the pivot will be too thin.  Have not heard a word about my motor for the Sunbird.  Right now I'm struggling to get someone out here to get my well working.  Have been out of water since Saturday evening.   I was able to get the boat fired up for the 1st time this year.  Hope to take that to the cabin for the 4th July weekend.  Hell might be staying home if I can't get the water problem solved.   Have contacted 4 company's  and have seen nobody here yet.

Yup! I know! Part of that list belongs to the daughter & some is mine! Trying to get shit done before I’m to old & slow to do it.

I been MIA, so I’m not up on everything, what’s up with the GTO? & what’s the issue with the well?

  3. Those type of parts are vacuum deposition plated! Redoing them would not be easy or cheap, if you could even find it. Best bet is either what JustA said or find a good 3M dealer who knows their stuff. 3M sells all kinds of pinstripe (contact) tape & they sell it in all kinds of colors including chrome, silver & many variation of those. They come in all kinds of widths! Anywhere from a 1/32 wide to 2 feet, depending on the color. If you know how to use an exacto knife, you should be good to go.

  4. I have to agree with Kiwi! # 1 how many miles on the car! # 2 the cars been wrecked so most likely it’s been recorded on car fax so no matter what you do for restoration you can forget about $30-$35 k for resale. Being a GXP is both good & bad most of the parts are gone as far as new. The hood, front bumper cover, lights etc. & even if you could get them the hood is over a $1000, front cover over $500, headlights are over $400 each. It appears the core support is bent! If you can find new parts to put on & half ass fix the structural components what’s the point.
If you love the car & you want it just for you to hold on to long into the future; well that’s a different story than! Make the sacrifice & go for it!

looking far too clean to drive Last Indian! 👍

I’ll tell ya Kiwi, what a job , not that I haven’t done it before! But man pulling all the crap out, cleaning everything up! Paint, panting & oh did I mention painting. Then carefully installing it all in. Laying on my back to torque bolts to 133 ft pounds that you can barely get to! Wow.

So the last time we played was 2019.  For 2020 we were to play on Sunday and on Friday the Olympic's were canceled as there was 5....yes 5  confirmed cases of covid in our state, so our govenor shut the state down. On N off for the last couple years, we were to play in March of 2022.  Cancelled and rescheduled 3 times we finally finished the 2022 Winter games this last Sunday.  Grueling 8hrs of Volleyball with teams from all over the state.  We fell a lil short of our Gold Medal expectations and ended up with Silver, but this qualifies us for a spot in the summer games in August.  Summer games will determine who will represent the state of Mich in the National Senior Olympics.  This will be in July of 2023 in Pittsburg Pennsylvania.  LMAO  Still using the Gold Eagle shirts that they sponsored for the US Open Nationals my team played in.  (this is playing with teams from all over the world in our age bracket and also team USA Volleyball playing 2 courts over from us) Had extra's made for my family, Frosty N IndymanJoe too.   Of course I'm Justa 6 on the court too.

  8. Yeah I didn’t get the first one, won’t get the second one either, everybody’s got to choose for themselves. If you delve into what that chemistry really is & how it works ya no thanks. I like my heath to much & my nuts!

  9. Hey JustA! I JustA found my original picture of something I think you recognize!

recognize the one on the right? This was the original picture I had taken to send to a notable wheel mfg. in 1979 to see if they had an interest. They said it would cost to much to build.

Does anyone know what is the difference between Semi Metallic Brake pads...and Carbon Metallic pads..??

Carbon metallic pads use carbon fiber mixed obviously some type of metal shavings, ceramic metallic uses ceramic mixed with metal shavings and organic obviously we all know. You recommendation would be the carbon metallic! They have very good heat tolerance good fade properties excellent stopping power, better than ceramics, yet they are much easier on rotors. With the type of rotors you are getting, I think you would be ahead of the game with carbon metallics. IMO.
