  1. I would assume he's touchy because he's driving on a suspended license, and even if he finagled his way out of giving the guy insurance info and what not and didn't have the police called and didn't flee the scene of an accident, he can't call his insurance company or the other person's insurance company to fix whatever damage there is to his car. And this is one of the many reasons you don't drive on suspended.
  2. I don't see much, either. And unless I missed something, isn't your license suspended?
  3. Funny you mention this. I was just researching how to do something similar for a friend's 88 MR2 (which uses the same sealed beam headlamps as the Fiero). There's conversion kits out there, which use the same look as the sealed beam, but allow normal bulbs to be put in. In theory, you could buy one of these conversion kits and an HID Kit and be set ... I also ran into some conversion kits that were also HID kits. Link to Hella's conversion kit on Amazon. You can scroll to the bottom and see related items. I think there's a couple on there made by Pilot. And then some other Amazon vendors. I'm sure there's more out there, I just haven't looked much past the stuff I found on Amazon.
  4. I have. I found that with Funeral and almost all doom metal, the music is pretty repetitive, and fairly unimpressive (no offense).
  5. For me, well... I was a band geek in school. Their use of irregular timing and just how very technical their music is... it's just awesome.
  6. All That Remains is most excellent. They're making a new album right now. And I'll check out Gojira.
  7. Yeah, well, even Guitar Hero doesn't even play them up anymore, so hopefully they'll just fade off sooner or later. Also, if you haven't heard the new August Burns Red CD, you should take a listen to some of the songs. Pretty good for metalcore.
  8. Ew. Yeah. It was all Guitar Hero, and people just going nuts over all the fast guitar work, which wasn't even that great, just fast.
  9. I'll agree with most of that list. As I mentioned in the SB, my brother introduced me to metal with Pantera and Sepultura, so I can't agree with you on Pantera. Metallica post-Black Album is just bad. I simply cannot stand Megadeth. Don't even get me started on Slipknot, Atreyu, or Avenged Sevenfold. Killswitch Engage... Their first 3 albums were decent. I'm not sure what's up with the new ones. Pretty lame.
  10. And then you have silly people like me, who have been listening to them for a decade, and who like both ... Didn't know about Christian leaving Scar Symmetry. I haven't listened to them in a while. I didn't like their sound a whole lot though. I might have to give them a listen again sometime soon. Right now I'm just steadily waiting for the new As I Lay Dying and new Soilwork albums to come out. And I'll be happy.
  11. I'll agree. Soilwork's sound has changed, I still wouldn't call it metalcore though. Not that metalcore is a bad thing, I listen to a lot of hardcore and metalcore bands, among other subgenres, I just wouldn't lump Soilwork with that group. Like I said, I agree their sound has changed, but it has changed progressively (and not suddenly) over 15 years, through 7 albums and an EP, and through something like 8 or 9 line up changes. Their current sound is not anywhere near as brutal or fast as, say, Steelbath Suicide or Chainheart Machine. However, I don't honestly think they'd be a band worth talking about if all 7 of their albums were just 70+ more songs of the same thing they had on Steelbath Suicide.
  12. Good luck. I wouldn't even bother putting it on a charge before getting it tested. Keep us posted.
  13. Considering the somewhat young age of the battery and that you can't jump start it, it's probably a shorted cell. Take it out and take it to your local parts store to get it tested, but I'm pretty sure you got a shorted cell in your battery, and therefore a bad battery. Nothing to be done about it except hope you have a warranty on it still. If this is a budget battery we're talking about, I know times are tight, but try to stretch for a good/more reliable brand. Batteries are finicky and complicated, and unfortunately some companies cut expenses on materials and design, and you get problems like this.
  14. Sorry to be a bit off-topic. But I've been freelancing for almost a decade, and when a client comes at me with something like that, I simply tell them no. It's a two letter word and not hard to say. You are the one with the training and you are the one with the experience. I would never put my name on anything I would not approve of, and if that means dropping the client, so be it. There's always another job. Back on topic. Jedi, you totally should've won. Sorry, dude. Yours was awesome.
  15. Yeah, well, what marquee wouldn't do that if they could get away with it? Business-wise, not to say it's right, they avoided a massive recall and got away with it, so far.
  16. We had a Nissan once. Never had a problem with them. If I had this experience I'm having now and wasn't such a fanboy for GM, I'd probably be jumping ship right about now.
  17. That'd be funny. Not only am I mechanic by trade, I have close ties to those in the field of law (think immediate family). They'd have a hard time trying to justify something like that to me while at the same time getting past that little thing called the Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act. Not happenin'.
  18. It's cool, I'm back from the dealer. Talked to the service manager, who wasn't happy to see me, having already dealt with me once. He put me in a rental car and sent me home before they even looked at the car. The shop foreman is working on the car himself. Interesting how customer service comes back into the picture after the customer gets pissed off.
  19. Heading out now to get my new rack and pinion replaced with another new rack and pinion, I guess. Wish me luck.
  20. So... The new rack is leaking. Going back to the dealership Monday... I'd imagine a few people aren't going to be happy to see me, as I'm pretty peeved about this.
  21. Has an unused tampon colored car (so you both lose?)
  22. Got her back today with a new rack and pinion, lubed I-shaft, new key fob, and working keyless entry and tpms.
  23. The 3.7L J37A4 puts out 305HP, to name one, and the rest of the J37 family puts out 300hp. Don't be racist or plug into stereotypes, you won't endear anyone to your opinion or your person. Honda (or any other import auto company) didn't invent distasteful modding, nor did their design teams. Aftermarket parts companies did. And as a response overall to your post, Rodimus_Prime, this thread is meant to be an intellectual debate versus the oh so common flame war that occurs on other forums. Don't diminish that with an outrageous, heavily biased, and un-researched post. As far as my opinion is concerned, I am no big fan of imports, especially Hondas as far as that goes, and I am a huge fan of GM. I have been in two collisions (not the driver in both) in two Hondas, and was knocked out for over a minute both times, and both accidents were in <35mph incidents. One was in a late 80s, early 90s Accord, the other was in a late 90s CR-V; I was in the back seat for both. In an accident at 50MPH in my 89 Camaro, I was neither knocked out or very busted up, aside from a concussion. Safety is a major and valid concern for most Hondas, as well as other imports, and something I'd agree they need to work on. Do I like the "fart cannons," Buick ventiports stuck on everywhere, underbody lighting, and all the other crazy stuff "ricers" tend to do? No. But I recognize people who mod their cars in this way represent a cross-section that is highly-noticed and ridiculed, but mostly ignored. If you can't ignore them, you need to learn how. There's no point in giving them attention as that's all they're looking for. As far as performance, I know plenty of people in this area who don't rice out their imports, and mod them for performance. They are some of the fastest, slickest, and hardest-cornering cars I have ever seen and I give them their proper kudos. If you can't honor somebody for the work they've put into their car because of the badges on the front and back of their car, then you need to re-evaluate your common sense.
