  1. Neat. So you insult me and then you embarass me. Good job showin the FP love there, boss. I probably have more specialized tools than half your techs. It wasn't a lack of knowledge I was ranting about or the lack of tools, it was being prepped for something and having to change how I was doing things, which is psychologically a pain in the rear, and the fact that the tools you have to use don't follow GM's own standards of design. It was not the first time I've worked with this engine, nor will it be the last. I knew what I had to do and did it, I just cant believe GM/Saturn would allow something so stupid to get through the design process. And thank you Chaos for the constructive reply.
  2. I had exactly the right tools for the job, I was just prepped for the usual Ion/Cobalt stuff. And yes, I know the l81 was brought over from Europe. Doesn't make it any less stupid. It couldve been Americanized or however you want to put it, and it wasnt.
  3. So I'm at work. I have an oil change on a L81 3.0L Saturn (forget the model, L300 I guess). Anyways, we were in a bit of a time crunch with a bunch of cars left to work on and about an hour to close. Lift the car up, etc. etc., look for a drain plug, and, Saturn being Saturn and ... different, I realize the drain plug is a Torx-head bolt. Already annoyed, this annoyed me further. The L81s have internal paper filters instead of the normal canisters, so I go to my tool box, grab a T45 or whatever it was torx bit and a 32mm socket to undo the canister to get to the paper filter. Get back, nearly break my torx bit getting the drain plug out (hence why it's annoying -- those bits aren't made to really take but SO much stress, and people tend to over-tighten drain plugs), and then attempt to take the top of the canister off to get to filter. Nope. L81 doesn't take the GM/Saturn standard 32mm to get to the filter. sdklfhsdljkafhsdfjkh! I eventually coaxed it apart, but it was a PITA, and just reminds me that sometimes, Saturn being "different" is really really REALLY annoying (Sorry Jedi )
  4. Meh, you all have it wrong. Braves > all themz. Kthz
  5. I found 2 and it's already too much. TOO MANY EGGZ
  6. A blown up motor that starts is still a blown up motor.
  7. If your idle air control valve (which is common in many cars, btw) went bad, your problem wouldn't be hesitation. But I agree with Chaos, plugs and wires would be a good starting point. Then move on to fuel.
  8. I'd sell a kidney on the medical black market so I wouldn't have to sell all of my mods on any of my cars.
  9. Oh! That reminds me! The TV Cable in most third gens is adjustable. Maybe it ratcheted out of adjustment. Or snapped.
  10. CLIFFNOTES TIME! Him and his gf stayed out too late, gf's mom got pissed off, called his gf, gf's phone in car. Gf gets message, goes home, gets in argument, gets kicked out. Jake takes dads truck pick up gf and stuff, cop pulls him for 50 in a 40. Jake gets lucky, cop follows to make sure all is good, jake takes gf home with him. gf lives with jake now. takes gf to get belly button pierced next day, gets pulled for no front plate, gets fix it ticket. they go to friends house, stay there till 1am. jake gets < 4 hours sleep. There. I took one for the team.
  11. The 700R4 was only rated for about 350HP when it was new, and I'm assuming you have the original tranny, or a OEM replacement. That being said, I know most 700R4s start to give at around 300 HP, despite their rating. Considering that your car put out 250HP, stock, and you have done many-a-mod to the engine, I'd say you probably wrecked something in there, and I wouldn't be surprised if it was the torque converter. All that being said, I don't know how much power you make. Having looked at your mods, I'm sure it's above 300 horses by now. You might want to look into getting a Pro-Built (the company) transmission, especially if you plan on putting a beefier turbo in there. They sell rebuilt 700R4s that take craptons more power than stock. (I think they're lowest rated 700R4 is, like, 550HP). Good luck with the Third Gen, from a fellow Third Gen owner
  12. It's probably not gonna throw any codes your OBDII scanner is going to pick up. The trans has it's own module and stores its own codes (thanks GM... ). I have a very similar problem, and the dealer is probably going to tell you the same thing they told me, "It's no different than any other G6 we've driven."
  13. Don't you have a stone deflector (the big plastic thing that sits inside your wheel well) to protect the inside of your rear bumper?
  14. No one wants you to leave, you're just not listening. Try to calm down, re-read the thread, and see if you can understand the points we're trying to make.
  15. Seriously kid, I've lost three people in my life due to stupid decisions on the road. Those are just three that were close to me, I know plenty around me that I never really knew but knew of, that have died, a lot of them doing the same stuff you're doing. Please accept this as help, and take it for what it is. We don't need a memorial wall on this forum.
  16. Me and PTH? No. Me and you because of our mutual love of PTH? BFFs
  17. Not to mention had he had a valid license, and had he decided to make a wise decision and not get mixed up into a street race, he'd be getting a new bumper right now.
  18. Kleindl's razzi kit in the future for the gf's G6? Saw you asking about it on G6P
  19. Well when someone is at fault, they usually like to get off. Fleeing the scene is still a Class 2 Misdemeanor in Colorado, which is a minimum of 3 months in jail/250 dollar fine, or both, or a maximum of 1 year/1000 dollar fine, or both, combined with the Class 3 Misdemeanor for driving without a valid license, you'd have a minimum of 3 months in jail and a 300 dollar fine, and a maximum of 1.5 years and a 1750 dollar fine. You got lucky (you hope, this can still come to bite you in the ass if the driver got your license plate). I cannot stress to you how much you need to NOT drive on a suspended license. I'm not trying to bash you, I'm trying to help.
  20. So you fled the scene of an accident?
  21. Just looked up Colorado law. Driving without a valid license is a Class 3 Misdemeanor, which carries a minimum sentence of a $50 fine and a maximum sentence of 6 months in jail and a $750 fine.
