Anyone else been looking at the news on this as I have been?

Crazy stuff, I'm surprised with how out of hand things were and kind of still are and everything going on in Parliament because of it. I'm not going to get into why it started because I think that is a matter in it's self just wanted to say my thoughts are with those who were victims of the rioting and the British Police force.

Been going on for over five days now, from what I recall...something about the Police force and Parliment being bought out for personal info on the public's email, and phone tapping. All behind their backs. To boot, police excecuting people...shit's outta hand.

Meh. Collapse of society, show me something that hasn't happened in other countries in the recent past.

My family and I are leaving for Scotland next week. We were hoping to spend 2 days in London. Right now, I think we will play that by ear because of all this. I know my wife is nervous, while my aunt there says things are calm in downtown London, while everything is happening in the suburbs or elsewhere.

I also hear that some of this has to do with students (both foreign and UK nationals) protesting how the government has cut back funding of their college educations. So basically these are people complaining that a free lunch is coming to an end and they may have to work for thier money and education instead of being on the dole. So in this case, I would tell these people that they can find the word "sympathy" in the dictionary between""shit" and "syphillis".

Yeah I don't think you'll have any major problem unless you are out at night which I think the curfew is still in effect for early so I don't think you can be or want to be for that matter.

Yeah I agree, coming from someone who is $15k in debt because of college, I have no sympathy for people losing "government" funded scholarships of the such. I earned the scholarships I got through academics, music and sports and they kept me from having more debt.

I was listening to BBC news and they had an MP on there that was stating that he doesn't believe that the people who are going to university or school would be the people out the rioting. I strongly believe the people who were/are out there rioting are people with nothing to lose and everything to gain aka not a well educated person (or I hope).

The family and I just got back from Scotland and London. Central London and all the major central exhibits were fine. Most of the rioting was out in the furthest suburbs, not in downtown London, Manchester, Westminster, Mayfair, etc. The main areas we were in were totally untouched. I think the international press gave this too much attention.

I read an article while I was there that the cops have identified and arrested over 300 people already based on the videos of the rioting and looting. They posted articles with another 100 more they are asking people to come forward and identify. So MI5 is taking this very seriously.
