1962 Bonneville aftermarket temp sensor placement/fitment

Featured Replies

Hey guys,  new here.  I want to install a real analog temp gauge but I don't see anywhere on the heads or block where a temp sensor can be mounted.  Do I drill and tap the Thermostat housing on the top or is there a better way?  I am also installing an electric fan and am wondering if there i a dual sensor switch setup so I don't have drill another hole somewhere.  Thanks!

There should be a provision either on the head or block on the driver's side or on the intake manifold for a water temp sender. The preferred location is on the engine and not the intake. There should be tapped and threaded hole. It may current have the sensor for the idiot light,
