Project Creep Strikes Again!

Featured Replies

It never fails.  I was going to put the grilles back in and noticed some paint work done by a previous owner looked really bad so I order some Matte Black.  Then saw the hood latch was also black so I had to order the Cadmium Silver to correct that.  Then I thought I could just "scuff" the old black paint but when I tried to paint over it, my new paint bubbled up just like the previous black.  Turns out there was some really thick gray paint on the pan that goes under the grilles.  I'm guessing it's high-build primer.  Anyway, I had to sand the whole thing bare and that gray stuff clogged up my sandpaper like nobody's business.  Oh yeah, the horns needed fresh paint too.
