Featured Replies

I have a 66 gto convertible the company that rewired it broke the switch for the top I know where the 2 color wires go but not the black They did not connect it to anything there is a relay right outside the hole in the firewall does it go there and then to the positive side or does it go directly to the hot side thanks for any help you guys can provide and welcome to my 2 year nightmare.

Thanks,

Dave

I use a 3 way switch to operate my hood up/down.  Usually the hot goes to the middle post.  Your up/down goes on one end or the other.  Usually up is the top position.  Check to see your hot is working,  check at the pump to make sure what colors are the ends.  You can jump with a wire from hot to each end to figure out up/down.  Good luck.

eBay has a very good plastic laminated, in color, 11 x 17 wiring diagram for old Pontiacs - often for your exact model year . . . and very inexpensive.   I can't live without mine and I think I paid less than twenty five bucks.

The middle black wire is power. The red is for down and green is for up. Black should be plugged into the accessory plug next to the accessory fuse on the fuse block. If you have power windows and locks, they will also use this same lead. So see if you have an available lead.
