This was sent to me from my Aunt. I think it's really good. Why can't the US do commercials like this?

Anyway, this is what went along with the email;

Great Aussie Ad Campaign!

This is perhaps one of the most intense commercials that I've ever seen and well made. I hope that by passing this along to others, that it will make a difference and if just one life is saved, it will all be worth the effort to simply hit "send" and maybe save a life today or tomorrow or in the future.. Please pass it along to all of your friends and maybe you can be responsible for saving some lives. Wouldn't that be a great Christmas Present.

Sadly people here would think that was "too violent of a commercial" or etc... to be shown here. Which is freaking BS because it gets the point across and there's more violent things on TV programs.

Please be safe this holiday season! At the least please avoid a DUI and even if you're having 1 drink have someone else drive you!!

GREAT PSA!!!

Shit...that hits hard. I personally think a lot of the younger drivers out there should watch this.

Myself...I really wish I didn't... :/

^^ lol

Btw, I just learned that these commercials are only broadcast in Victoria, AUS. They are the only ones that spend money on these types of commercials.

^^ lol

Hey, you should know I don't like seeing car accidents, let alone...very graphic recreations...

*points to sig below* :rofl:

Oh yeah...Sorry. Well, I did post a warning.

I know I know...just, dormant feelings came about.

Aaaaand this is why I haven't watched it!

However, I do have an anecdote: when I was in high school they did a really cool thing to raise awareness of the dangers of drunk driving. Many students in the high school of all ages and chosen at random were taken out of class at various times throughout a particular day, and when they were taken from class they were "dead" due to a drunk driving accident. All of the students were literally gone from class for the next two days. They weren't allowed any contact with their family or friends. (They were with a few instructors at a nearby former army camp, safe and sound but "dead" to everyone else but themselves.) At the end of the week there was an outdoor assembly and a drunk driving accident scenario was recreated on the football field, car accident, ambulance and all. All of the "dead" students were brought back in to give speeches about the importance of not driving while intoxicated. It was incredibly powerful and the whole ordeal made almost everyone in the school cry. I have never forgotten it.

Now this...

Awesome.
