Bucket Seat Back Rake

Featured Replies

I have a 69 GP with bucket seats. The seat back rake is too severe for my bad back. I’d like to adjust the rake to a more upright position. I could add one or two more bump stops at the bottom of the seat, but then the seat back would not lock in place.   Does anyone know of a solution ?  I was told to put a pillow on the seat back.  Don’t like that option.

Hi tom

it all depends on how much you want to pay !!

pilllow ..$3

take seat out , give to an upholstery shop, get them to add foam, and /or alter the steel work , so that the latch still works

which is what I would do, and I would work with the upholster so it fits me perfect 👍

I am wondering if you can add some steel washers/shims to the back of the strato bucket to force it to sit more upright? Where the bucket seat folds forward to let someone in the backset, is there somewhere to add shims or lengthen a bolt to force the bucket set more upright. I have not stared at mine in a long time to know that answer off the top of my head.
