Hey guys, please have a look at this. Will this fit my 65 GP? GM B bodies are essentially similar, right?

Fitzy - this unit is a GM Saginaw 525 unit. It was produced from 1965 - 1991. It was used in GM cars and trucks, Jeeps, and Ford F350s trucks and Econoline Vans. It is considered a "universal" fit. The site I check said it should fit your GP. I say go for it.

If you're still not sure, ask the seller to take some photos and measurements of the mounting area and compare it to your car.

Thanks Frosty-I agree. I'll get it later today. They seem to be rare in manual format so I can always sell it later if required. A splash of black paint and it's a 'remanufactured' unit!

Let us know if it fits once you get it. I am all too curious to see this thing hooked up.

I've actually ordered a reco box ftom Ames-I just wanted the pitman arm and believe it or not, this was not only the ONLY way to get one but probably about the same price. I'll fit that pitman to the reco box and maybe it'll work. The next concern is if the idler arms are different between man & p/s. If they are, the drag link could be crooked.

You can be assured that I'm going to share my stories of pain, anguish & mental suffering, but I just KNOW it's gonna be worth it. Truth be known, I have no-one else to share such misery with. My missus couldn't care less, I have no children, my friends already think I'm loopy and my workmates exist only on other planets judging from their concentrated weirdness. That leaves you guys.
