Service manuals?

Recommended Posts

So I just joined the Pontiac world. 1969 custom S convertible.  As with all older cars there are some issues. I can fix most anything but would like to pick up a solid manual for electrical and mechanical.  I have found a few on AMAZON but figured I'd ask before I waste money on books.

With all that said... what's your go to manual(s)??

I would suggest a Good/Decent used over a Re-Print. Lots of the Re- stuff is garbage.

Here is a good link to a clear pdf on-line version of the '69 SM.

I purchase original GM service manuals at swap meets or I purchase on electronic copy that has electronically digitized the entire service manual for my car. So that generally means two manuals, the Service manual and the Body Service Manual. The body service manual is usually body-specific or what was (then Fisher Body). You can often find these manuals on eBay or perhaps even Amazon.

I have two sets of hard copy manuals plus a digital version (as a backup) for Lucy.

Thanks for all the answers. I was looking at the repop version of those manuals. I think I'll keep my eye out at the swap meet for a few weeks... if not then get the repops.
