Hello family, friends, and all those who read this message,

The Harker family has been through a rough year and our hope is that this message can bring some happiness for our Dad and family. Our Dad, John Harker, was diagnosed with brain cancer on February 15th, 2018. In early March, he had surgery to remove some of the tumor, and in April, he had whole brain radiation.  Sadly, the tumors continue to grow quickly, and although he fights, he faces speech, cognition, and physical challenges. Dad has been mostly pain free throughout this journey, but was placed on hospice this past week to make sure he stays comfortable in the months ahead.

Given this tough news, we are trying to bring as much joy as we can to Dad.  This is where we need your help! In 1977, Dad worked hard to save up and purchase a 1972 Pontiac Lemans.  As a junior in high school, Dad had a strong connection to this car, yet he sold it in 1984.  The car had an orange exterior with a black stripe and black interior.  This is a picture of the car shortly before our Dad sold it. Our hope is that we can find an orange 1972 Pontiac Lemans and give our Dad a chance to ride in his favorite car one last time.

We would be so appreciative if you could share this message widely and help us bring a smile to our Dad’s face. This will be a surprise for Dad, so please keep it a secret from him. Feel free to message with any information or questions.  We are located in Southwest Wisconsin.  #finda72lemans #HarkerStrong #BigJohnStrong

With love,
The Harker Siblings

Welcome Harker family. It saddens me to hear about your father.

Do you have any of the original paperwork of your Dad's Lemans such as a photocopy of the title, registration, or insurance? Any thing that might have the vehicle's identification number (VIN) on it? If so, your local DMV should be able to see if the car is still on the road. Certain state laws may prohibit you from knowing who owns it but that would at least answer the question if the car still exists or not.

You didn't mention which state or province you live in. That makes it a little tougher for our members to know how close they are to you. I am assuming you want to do this fairly soon.

One thing to note, there were no stock orange colors available from Pontiac in 1972. However, in 1971, Orbit Orange, was available and was popular on GTOs and Lemans convertibles. It is possible his car was special ordered or re-painted to this color.

Thank you for that idea! We are located in the southwest corner of Wisconsin. We probabaly only have a few months to accomplish this and would appreciate anyone that could spread the word!

Thank you!!
