Howdy Folks,

Matt here. I have a 1972 Pontiac Grand Prix, and from what I understand, common rot on the rear window frame. My question is this, can I use the the panel between the trunk and rear window from a 69-70 in a 71, modifying it maybe?

The short answer is yes. That body style ran from 69-72 so all major sheet metal is the same. There were minor variations in the grille and such, but not for what you are talking about.

May want to reach out to GOODMARK and/or AMD both offer the 69-70 Rear Deck Filler but show no listing for 71-, so there may be a difference. This could just be the width/depth depending how you look at it and you may be able to use the Glass channel off one of them?  When I did my '69 there was nothing avail; so at least there are some pcs now. Best of luck.
