Hi Rich. Could you snap some photos of your hinges please? Do you still have your old hingles? Have you compared them side-by-side? It sometimes to see the problem first hand.

Also, who or where did you purchase the new hinges? Were they specifically for the HO/RAM AIR hood? I am hoping you purchased them from a quality OER catalog company like OPGI, YearOne, National Parts Depot, etc.

Ames has an asm that is exclusive to the 71 72 endura hoods.pn D128D 185.00 for the kit. they also have a spring they claim will hold the weight better of those hoods. pn D130 its originally for a 64-67 gto. $16.00 each. Good luck
