1971 Lamborghini Miura SV restoration

-

Widely considered to be the first true supercar, the Miura is a big part of Lamborghini’s history–not to mention one of the most beautiful cars ever made. We’re salivating over this gorgeous 1971 example that’s been fully restored by Lamborghini’s Polostorico division to celebrate the Miura’s 50th anniversary.

-

Roughly translating to “classic hub,” this new division was created last year to offer parts and full restorations to owners of classic Lambos. As the first project to be completed by Polostorico, this restored 1971 Lamborghini Miura SV certainly looks spectacular with its striking Verde Metallizata exterior color and pristine tan interior. We’re sure that the crowd at this weekend’s Amelia Island concours, where the Miura will be shown, will have plenty of appreciation for the flawlessly refurbished Italian sexpot.

To perform the restoration, Lamborghini fully stripped the chassis and engine of the Miura and followed the car’s original production sheet to make sure that every component matches the original specification. This particular example carries extra historical importance because it was the pre-production car unveiled at the 1971 Geneva motor show to debut the new SV model. This was also the when Lamborghini showed a prototype of its shocking new Countach to the world for the first time.

Polostorico plans to restore other historic Lambos going forward. If the amazing execution of this Miura is any indication, we certainly can’t wait to see what the team in Sant’Agata Bolognese has in store for the future.
