  1. OK, brain went walkabout on me this morning .... still haven't found the time to play with her, or the cottage roof. Getting on my nerves. Letting the truck run for a couple of minutes to warm up makes the second gear grab much less noticeable. But, getting a fairly loud whine from just behind the driver's compartment.  Not finding any passengers hiding back there, I suspect the fuel pump  isn't long for this world.

I wonder what it would take to change the grill to a Pontiac.

  2. I read this and you know what I hear? Paper or plastic. Remember not all that long ago when environmentalists encouraged us to choose plastic bags over paper to save the trees. Today the same idiots howl at our use of the plastic they demanded we choose. Same environuts who espoused clean small diesel engines over gas in europe ... only to now see those same cars banned from downtown London. Today they demand electric cars ... but how long until they finally catch up with the idea that recycling all that light weight garbage those cars are made of is 100 times harder and costlier than just melting down a car made of steel. That there's no environmental win in recycling and building a new car every ten years over keeping an old car in good running shape for 40. Wrestle the pig all you want ... if you don't eventually figure out that the pig is enjoying it more than you are ... you're dumber than the pig.

  3. No, I haven't done the  brakes yet, although I did inspect the rubber lines and none of them have a hernia. The pickup is sitting with a half tank of gas until the Harvey price hikes subside ... if they ever do. $1.439/l and still climbing.  The Malibu gets to limp along for yet another reprieve. Damn things got more lives than a cat.

  4. We jsut talked about the lousy brakes on the Sierra and what might be the trouble. He thinks MC as well, or a rubber line hernia. I've never had a MC issue that didn't go to the hard floor. But I've never had a pedal this spongy from just old fluid either. 2 more days and then I'm off for 2 weeks and can tear into it. The bitch is this thing has ABS, and  I don't have the right modules for my Snap On scanner to cycle the solenoids.
