  1. Completely forgot I said I'd pick this one up from you... if you haven't sold it yet I'm pretty sure it'll go right in the van no problem so if you can just get me a "quote" on the shipping from your location to 55109 I'll for sure paypal you the money.
  2. BUMP for an extremely nice set of wheels that I wish I had $1400 to purchase... man those would look nice on the Saturn!
  3. I believe when we did the long haul last time we took 94 the whole way across until it turns to 90, then follow that South to Chicago. It's a pretty easy jaunt just BORRRRINNNGGGG... sorry but unless you're on a 4 wheeler/dirtbike or going off roading Wisconsin is just plain old boring. I know MN isn't too much better but MY GOD 94 is the longest straightest LAMEST stretch accross WI.... I was excited when I saw a "rock" that stood probably 200 ft high out in the middle of nowhere haha!
  4. Well our current thoughts are leave on the 10th and come home on the 13th. Of course there won't be a 4 day long meet so Its just a matter of getting the days off work and getting there. I've gotta do some tune up work on the van because it's getting horrible mileage and misfiring at idle for some reason and has really no UMPH when you put her down (not good, we like umph!) So, whatever day would work best. I really enjoyed the last meet and the turnout was great, although it's not looking like we've got as many respondents this time. keep em comin!
  5. SO I'm thinking myself and Des will be coming into Chicago the second week of August and I think it'd be pretty cool to put together another meet there. I had a lot of fun last time and there were plenty of people to show that we knew how to have fun. What do ya say, guys? I think there's a good potential of people who'd be up for it, plus it's almost 8 weeks in advance for planning so we could maybe put together a day cruise and get a couple meals in and some pictures if anyone knows of some good places to shoot? Any takers let's make this work! It's been a while and I'm ready to meet up again!
  6. Well if it's the 3.5 pending upon how many miles you've got on it it's probably only pushing 185-190 HP... you could do a cold air and exhaust without harming the versa-trak. that in itself is dragging plenty of power off the motor so I can't imagine you have too much fun in the speed region haha, I'd clean out your throttle body and maybe even pop the upper intake manifold off and polish that out for a small gain. These vans are fun though haha it's worth a shot... OH by the way maybe do some larger spark plug wires and better spark plugs mine are junk my van misfires like crazy right now by I don't drive it more than 50 miles a week anymore so I'll take care of it soon enough haha just realized I was suggesting parts for two different vans WHOOPS... well for the 06 I'd suggest all of the above... the 3400 I think your CHEAPEST best bet are all the above and on top of that I'd actually say to do it up and buy yourself a 3500 high flow intake manifold from WOT-TECH and call er good.
  7. Yeah, you've got the 3.5 right? Check G6 aftermarket parts for the motor, there's not too much for body but I did the dual exhaust and the airhorns myself. There's a lot you can do just use your imagination and check out my progression thread for influence :-)
  8. Well I think the optimum V8 swap would be the 303 HP 5.3 FWD set up out of a late model Monte Carlo SS and I'll be happy. After driving my new Saturn the van just doesn't step up to the plate anymore. 0-60 in 5.8 seconds is just too hard to get out of my blood stream so V8 here we come... some day haha
  9. Well the van hasn't caused me too many more problems but I know it needs plugs and wires. Could probably spend a day tearing off the upper intake and polishing that up and porting it out but of course I'm just too lazy. I'll spend some time on it soon once I quit working two jobs, I just need some good time off! Welcome to the site ks101 good to see another van owner there's not many on here! I was just saying last night I'd like to buy one of the older vans with a 3.8 and empty it out so I can smoke the tires clean off the rims. Hope to see a few threads from you!
  10. Sad to hear about the GA, although let me know if something starts going wrong what you're going to have for an asking price, I'm absolutely in love with that thing. A buddy of mine just floated a valve in his '72 monte carlo 454, pretty easy though because that motor wasn't meant to go over 5000 R's and he was beating on it. Again sad to hear about the GA. Hope to see it around a while longer. I've test driven a G8GT and also have the 3.6 in the Saturn and it's AMAZING. 0-60 in 5.8 sec and a 14.5 1/4 mile... can out run a police car AND get 30 MPG's. Aura XR's have paddle shifters, 3.6 w/6spd, 252/251 HP/TQ. Maibu's just have the button on the shifter. Malibu and G8GT these are the only two I'd go for on your list, I'd suggest Aura XR but that's just me! GO NISSAN
  11. MN DMV License renewal takes maximum 15 min, and that's with a line. Well, the DMV by my place anyhow. Went in there the other day and schooled some of the ladies. Off-road trails in MN require you carry a tab saying you paid the DNR money to use their trails, so I bought one for the bronco. $40 for 3 years isn't bad. So, I went in, tought these ladies all about it (had never heard of it, not many buyers when nearest trail is 2 hrs away) Filled out the form and got my off-road tabs for the truck all in a matter of 15 minutes. I guess our DMV's are just cool like that... and Mark, just come on home for a couple weeks, we'll do up more photos and you can get your new license haha
  12. Yeah... I hear these motors ran a problem having too small a timing chain installed, so apparently the timing chain snaps? Like, it's apparently too narrow. Any truth to this?
  13. Nice Torrent, almost bought an '08 GXP on Monday BUT they sold it on Friday or something stupid like that BUT, I found my 2008 Saturn Aura 3.6 and am EXTREMELY happy with it. I will say from my experience with my custom air intake on my van that you will definitely gain power from losing that air box and tossing a cone filter on there. I didn't notice a huge difference when removing the stock muffler and replacing it with a glasspack, but when I replaced my resonator with a Dynomax crossflow HUGE difference and sounded awesome, nice ride and
  14. Yeah as said... don't buy the Aerio... ish, those cars aren't pretty but I never knew they were that dangerous! Good thing everyone's okay, although, are you going to have a claim against your ins. on that TB? Clearly... your car is going to the scrap yard (or is it plastic.... they don't like those.)
  15. Yeah I looked it up, 252 HP is what it looks like. 0-60 in 6.4 seconds, it's crazy. Running the TAPshift I can chirp the tires into second gear UNBELIEVABLE. All the buddies can't stop laughing when I put it to the floor. Des is happy with it, well, she'll be driving it mostly. We'll take care of it
  16. She's home and she's pretty! I guess Des decided we're naming it Sassafrass, Sassy works for me haha
  17. $17,705 was financed after all licensing and taxes. She's home and she's pretty! Gonna post the same ones in the "Car Show," not too many mods for this one, with only 13k I don't feel like voiding a warranty
  18. I believe we financed $17,705, which isn't bad because the car is worth 21,500. It's nice, can't wait to get it home and get some shots of it :-)
  19. Yeah, we pick it up either late tonight or tomorrow morning. I'm excited to see it in our driveway, it feels really good to have a practically brand new car! it's only got 13,000 on it so I'm thinking we're really lucky
  20. Well the Torrent sold end of the day Saturday, BUT... we found something with the 3.6L DOHC V6 pushing 252 HP and 251 lb/ft torque..... 2008 Saturn Aura XR, has 12,8xx miles on it. the purchase agreement is written up and the loan goes through the credit union tomorrow. PRETTY EXCITED, this car does 0-60 in 6.4 seconds track tested... wow.
  21. As long as the financing goes through :-)
  22. haha well the Grand Prix is my mom's, I'm just toying with it to keep me busy because I'm already pretty much done with the van til it's paid off. So, really all we have is the van and my Bronco (which cost $125 every 6 days in gas) and is insanely unnaffordable to drive every day. SO we are going to pick up THIS on Tuesday as long as the financing is approved. The money I save in gas from driving my truck would cover the car payment in itself
  23. ncford.lutherauto.com/preowned-inventory/2008_Pontiac_Torrent_Coon_Rapids_2CKDL33FX86079005.aspx Des and I lookin into this possible purchase next week. Checked it out today, pretty sweet. I got the hook up so I'd only pay 13-14k.... what do you guys think?
  24. I wasn't sure about the wheels at first either but they look great now that I've warmed up to them. That's mom's car but I think I got her talked into letting me do dual exhaust with the new rear valance, and tinted windows. And yes, I saved the gauge cluster and for some reason my brother saved the radio out of it haha. It was a pretty sad day, I waited for my mom to cry when they crushed it, but when she didn't I refused to haha
  25. So, the Bonneville's we owned went to the scrap yard today. Kind of a sad day, but things turned out okay. We've had the 99 since new, and it had 206,387 miles on it and the trans went out, too much work to be worth it so she went bye bye. Everything was falling off, the tires were all bald, the brakes needed to be done, plugs/wires hadn't been done in years... she was ready to go, just a sad site had that car for 12 years, I grew up in that car! BUT... Good news for the day!! The Grand Prix.... Before: AFTER!: looks so sick! Probably one of the better OEM upgrades I could think of. Told Mom I'd pay to put duals on the car, get a new rear bumper/valance, and to tint the windows. She'd get the "Coolest Mom of the Year Award" with that thing ha. We'll see if she goes for those upgrades, until then... this is what we got! Man it sure felt nice to check in here, it's been a while, missed the site!
