  6. I run an all EBC setup on my Cobalt using their slotted/dimpled rotors along with green stuff pads, ive had pretty good results with it
  7. alot of 3800 series 2 parts fit on there I believe?
  8. Gotta go with the pro, otherwise basically all you can do is upload a tune that someone sends you, turn on or off codes, monitor factory sensors, can't really make real changes to fuel or spark which is the entire point. The pro has 4 programmable inputs 0-5v, this is super important because it allows you to plug in a wideband o2 sensor, once you have that then you can get the fueling of the car perfect regardless of boost pressure, rpm, any size fuel injectors, etc Besides just uploading a tune that someone sends you (which I feel is a bad idea anyway tunes should be specific to the car as every car is different), I honestly cant think of a single good reason to purchase the cheap version.
  9. I plan on putting a TA49 in it at some future point, thats basically the best stock appearing upgrade and runs alot of cars into the 11s with no issue. I'll never drag the thing but I like having the power while looking stock. Many many future things planned, much of it of course depends on money and my job situation
  10. ive given up beer in my pursuit towards being the amazing physical specimen that i used to be
  11. no im def not a business, I only did about 5-6 cars last year, this is something I do strictly on the side wish i had my own shop and could have enough cars to justify doing it but theres not all that many people out there needing custom tunes all the time
  12. For those of you near or around Harrisburg PA I do own HP tuners and know how to use it pretty good. HP tuners can tune almost any post 1997 GM car. This is useful for many that have added boost or want to get the most out of their NA setups. my email is [email protected] for those that may have inquires on getting some work done
  13. There is no discussion really, they are substandard in safety, performance, and now even gas mileage. I don't mind so much foreign cars as I hate Japanese cars. I am so sick of these freaking morons with their 1.6L rusted shitcan trying to tell me American cars are crap. These morons invented the term "ricer". Then these fools try to act like gods gift to performance. Nothing could be further from the truth, Honda has never produced a single engine on a production car with more than 300 hp. Gm did this in the 50s, I'm not impressed. More than that I hate the honda enthusiast. Don't sit here and tell me "well we are all into modding cars and loving them and bla bla bla". No its not the same, my car wasnt designed by a 4 foot asian man. My car doesn't sound like shit. These morons invented distasteful modding. Huge fart cannons, shitty sounding exhaust, primered body kits, stupid ass wheels, retarded wings, japanese writing, stickers for parts you dont have, driving around with underbody lights on. I'm not the freaking tool bouncing off my rev limiter in a parking lot because I think its cool. I share NOTHING in common with this type of individual. I'd love to put every Civic Hatch in a crusher to remove them from being such eyesores on public roads. I would leave one left though for society, as a warning to never make the same mistake again. Also if this jap crap is built so awesome, why is it that every single week when I show up to the local car meets (that have about 100 cars), I have a 21 year old car (with no rust I might add) and its the oldest thing there? I mean if these cars are so invincible for all time why isnt there any there my age or older? Simple they aren't made as well, and even if they were who the hell wants a 20 year old honda? They are disposable cars that aren't worth preserving or restoring. The only thing they are good for is recycling like a old soda can because they had no passion when they were designed. To simply build a car to get from place to place means nothing and its forgettable instantly. When's the last time you walked in a parking lot and saw a 20 year old honda (or any year for that matter) that takes your breath away? I can't think of a single time.....ever. I do however get that feeling whenever I walk out to my TTA.
  14. Glad to see your fixing it up, that car needs you alot it looks like
  15. 1989 was def a good year for the Trans AM, TPI V8s were starting to pack a decent punch, T-tops were finally offered on the 350 V8s instead of just the 305 engine. Digital dash was gone in 89 though as an option. I've had some thoughts of getting rid of this car and getting a 89 350 GTA just because I'd like to have a red one or maybe a black one and the TTA only came in white
  16. Has anyone passed along the info on thirdgen.org, turbotransam.com, ls1gto, or ls1tech im on a few of those id be happy to pass it along but i dont want to repeat it if its already been done
  17. I'd like to enter for April when the time comes...
  18. Hi all, lifelong Pontiac fan here, I've owned 3 of them but two are no longer in my ownership. Got back into the Pontiac owners club June 2009 with this........ 1989 Turbo Trans Am, its number #82 of 1550. This was one of the 150 festival cars at the 1989 Indy 500 where the TTA served as pace car. This has the cloth/T-tops which only 187 were made with those options. I have the PHS paperwork also from the former owner and a laminated window sticker. I am the 6th owner of this car, its been titled in 5 states but spent the majority of its life down in FL where most of the mods were done. For those of you not familiar with the 20th Anniversary Trans AM it makes for some interesting reading. It bears the distinction of the fastest production Trans Am ever made and also the only one to ever carry a V6! The turbo V6 is used from the 86-87 Buick Grand National and had some internal modifications and different cylinder heads used to fit the f-body engine bay. The cars were built by ASC McLaren which was the same group that built the GNX and many other GM special cars during the era. Factory Options, essentially all Turbo Trans Ams started life as top of the then line GTA Trans Ams, so it had all the power options, the gold lace wheels, WS6 Suspension, and the 1LE Corvette Brake package which later became an option. Engine Mods * Ported Stock Iron TTA Specific Heads * Valve Springs * 206/206 Cam * Chrome MAF Pipe with K&N * Polished up pipe * Turbo XS Manual Boost Controller * Walbro 340 Fuel Pump Hotwired * 42lb 009 Fuel Injectors * Terry Houston 3 inch downpipe * 2.5 inch Dynomax Catback with gutted Cat * Turbo Tweak Custom Eprom Chip Suspension * Welded Subframe braces * Poly swaybar endlinks (pending install) Audio * Kenwood X493 MP3/ipod control head unit * Cadence Front 4x6 speakers * Pioneer Rear 6x9 speakers onto the pics! car in Massachusetts prior to me picking it up, went up a month before to test drive and see it in person Its time with me, local meet, later a 4th gen did show up! Some Recent shots after some cleaning, notice the shine the up intercooler pipe now has to match the other intake pipe FOREVER
