  2. I saw the car in person so no cameras, PHS documentation was displayed in the car window. Not sure about the matching numbers as the hood was closed. It was advertised as a real Judge but we also know that fraud is rampant in the collector car hobby. I would have thought the bottom $$$ for a Judge would be closer to $50K as it was in original factory colors as well. Even Pepper Green cars demand more than $35K let alone original Cardinal Red on black. maybe no GTO buyers in the audience. Where and what time your car crosses the block will effect your final price as well but that much?

A Judge that no sales at that price. It must have had a higher reserved that didn't get met or something else didn't add up.

I have to admit that the tigers on the car draw in the young kids.  If they come over I ask if they want to pet them. They point to my Tiger in the tank tail and I say I have an even bigger one in the trunk that I can't let out.

I guess the point I was making is that no one bid it higher or saw a value for the car above $35K.

  4. Would you believe that at the Mecum auction I attended this weekend that a red 1970 Pontiac GTO JUDGE was a "NO SALE" at $35K ???  I should have waited before buying mine. Car was a 4 speed car in the same condition as mine. 400 but damn, a Judge for $35K? wow.

Frosty its so cool that you get the young ones involved in our hobby. Its vital to its survival and would love to see more car owners get the up and coming generations excited about cars.

  5. I'm not sure that you can remove or replace the shifter arm as you can on a manual shifter, also a manual shifter arm is round as the dual gate arm is thin and reqtangular so that it moves thru the narrow gates of the auto shifter plate. I do recall that Hurst offered an aftermarket dual gate shifter back in the day and it had a higher and slightly curved arm, maybe you can find one of those on Ebay? or Craigslist as well. Maybe someone here knows where to find one new?

  6. scarlit, I found mine on Craigslist for $300 with console included. Some of the restoration Catalogs sell them new for @$500.

Best thing to do is order free catalogs from Ames Performance, National Parts Depot, and Original Parts Group INC. I think Year One charges $7 for its catalog but gives you the catalog money back on your first purchase.

a quick photo of my his/hers with the Hurst T handle in place.

I'm not sure if it was here or on CRO, but I did ask you if you were doing any shows last weekend, and was a lil bummed myself there was no reply.  But with the holiday weekend and all the set up/take down for the wedding, we had very LIL spare time. I was glad we had Friday AM to get over to Daytona.  Headed home Sunday with a few planned stops.  We did the Biltmore in NC that was amazing.  Didn't think I'd like it.   Almost got caught in the fire mess.  Smoke was extremely thick on 40 working our was back to 75 North.  We were down to a crawl.  Think we hit Kentucky when they started evacuating Gatlinburg???

Nah, last message I got from you was here on July 5th. Nothing that I saw on CRO. Even if it was only 15 minutes I would have made the trip to meet up brother. Glad you got to see the Biltmore House. Its my wifes favorite and I think she has dragged me there more than the Vanderbuilts were there, ha ha. I lived in Hendersonville back in the 90's and loved the weather and scenery. Glad you got back home safe.

  8. Dammit Steve, On one hand I am glad you came down and had a good time but on the other hand I'm a wee bit perturbed that you didn't give me a heads up that you were this close to Tampa and didn't give me a heads up! I had plans of attending the Rod Run this year but backed out at the last minute. I would have immediately changed those plans because its THAT important to me that you and I meet face to face one day, a hardy handshake, and share stories over a frosty beverage. You might just have to be on my Xmas sh*tlist for a few seconds for this sir!

Beautiful cars by the way, Glad your son has your taste in fine autos. Yes, still mad!

Well I wonder how many people opted for the gloss black spoiler vs. the standard body color?

Thanks 360, I learned something today.

Since it was a no charge alternative appearance scheme that was tied to only one paint color, Polar White, WT7 doesn't appear on PHS shipping invoices or reproduction window invoices. WT7 shows up on build sheets but it varies from plant to plant how it appears. Production totals on WT7 Judges are known but specific breakdowns by plant aren't available. For 1970 they produced 51 WT7 Judges. It was offered again in 1971 but only 15 cars were sold. It would seem strange that the year Pontiac took the trouble to list the WT7 option in their brochures that sales would tank, but that's what happened. For that matter, The Judge model was dropped along with the convertible early before winter was even over.  What is the difference between a normal white paint Judge and a WT7 Judge? Good question. Normally the Polar White paint code is matched to a set of eyebrow stripes that are blue, yellow and red in color. The rear spoiler is painted white to match. On a WT7 scheme Judge, the eyebrow stripes are black, red and yellow and the spoiler along with the hood scoops are painted gloss black
