  6. Funny thing,i forgot about painting the body where the wood blocks were to hold it all up,the gas tank mounts i can do later, the front cowl i did yesterday.Talk about a uhohhh moment LOL
  7. Well its a little closer today LOL had to run out and do some errands but its closer.Just the back to do,its about 3inches from setting down, and slightly off to the right.tomorrow i have to take the wife to Lansing for a real estate test. But i hope to have the body sitting on the frame and ready to bolt it.I hope i'm not boring anyone but doing this by myself is very rewarding and maybe it will inspire others to take the challange LOL If i can do this, anyone can! And knowing Justa and frosty are willing to come over and help is a great feeling in case i get into trouble LOL More pics...
  8. How long has he heard this noise? He may be like my wife and just turns up the radio to drown out annoying noises..Bearings,exhaust,Me LOL
  9. Thanks guys,Frosty has second dibs,I really dont think justa will have to change the radiator.Lets do the water pump first and see what happens.
  10. Thank you,Its the labor of Pontiac Love LOL
  11. PS...Justa,picked this up for ya.Aluminum with a cast impellar! 70 bucks brand new! if i didnt have my original rebuilt i would use it! You get first dibs if ya need it!
  12. I also revisted the patch i put on the drivers side.It was too smooth....Soo i dimpled it with vise grips to look like factory welds LOL I'm happy.last pic..My camera really hates me.
  13. Yesterday i spent the day lowering the body to the frame,Putting the wheels with the tires on made it so the body was closer to the frame without doing much LOL I was really afraid of losing my middle support, the tires wouldnt clear the jack stands. but the back was obviously doing its job of holding it all in the air..My buddy i borrowed 4 of the jack stands from said "i remember buying those jack stands...In 1950." WHAT? LOL i was glad to be done with those.
  14. Well my repair is complete,I'm happy.I dug out the windo weld around the "patch"it was too hard to sand feather etc..I ended up with this..The flash on my I-phone makes some of it look like rust? But it isnt rust.i also scribed a line in the corner to make it look like 2 panels instead of a fiberglass one piece lol.
  15. Now you tell me LOL Never would've thought windo weld would hold panels on.21hrs later...yea I'm real happy with the way it bonded. Justa i think,i have a cast impellar if you end up needing it.i save everything LOL
  16. well i found a rust hole with a few different issues.1st it was the inner wheel well that was rusted bad.2nd was it was also the outer quarter panel skin which is welded to the inner wheel well skin.3rd it has a few corners, bends that needed to be fabbed so it didnt look like well like i did the work LOL so i cut the old rusty crap out,of both panel,s.leaving me with this mess.I wanted to weld in some new metal then fiberglass, bondo and finish with paint.A good friend of mine stopped by and recomended i use 3m windo weld to glue in my patches...why not?He builds Bricklands for a living and uses this product to glue the acrylic panels to the frame of his builds.Soooo reluctantly i did just that.heres the pics..Now this stuff does take some time to cure,i did this repair at about 11am this morning.its now 9pm and i took some sandpaper to smooth it out as i will still use some fiberglass to feather the repair out then a skin coat of bondo to finish. As of now it sands like fiberglass after a 1/2 hour of curing.time will tell if it holds up.However i plan on painting the whole car next winter so i will judge the repair at that time to see if it was a real repair or a crappy temp fix.
  17. Compare that to a stamped impellar,no curvature of the impellar vanes resulting in cavitation, lack of coolant moving and overheating is the result. On my divider plate i did "massage" the opening for a tighter clearance to the cast impellars.I believe it was .026 distance i was shooting for.
  18. Hey Justa, this is a pic of my water pump, and divider plate.Notice the curvature of the impellar, which follows the same curves of the divider plate, and the distance between the impellars and the divider plate.
