  1. @Frosty Thanks sir!I I kind of assumed based on the same info but thought it's good to ask some of you experts out here
  2. Hi, Does anyone know if a driveshaft assembly from a 59 Catalina 4 door sedan work on a 59 Catalina 2 door convertible?
  3. @JUSTA6 - It bogs a little but not alot frankly. I held the choke open so I sould look down the carb and worked the accelerator a few times and can't see any gas squirting into the carb so I'm gonna replace it and see if that solves the problem.
  4. I think I found the problem, the accelerator pump doesn't appear to be working.
  5. Hi, I have a 59 Catalina Tripower I'm restoring that I'm unable to get it to start cold without a little shot of starter fluid in the center carb. One small shot of starting fluid and it starts immediately with no issues at all. And it starts warm with no problem. Fuel pump and filter have been replaced. The choke looks to be working ok and the fast idle works. I'm super excited that I finally got it running after working on it all summer and it runs freakin great, the last thing I need to figure out is the cold start.
  6. @JustAG6 Thanks sir, I've been through all these sites and spoke to radiator guys from all over the country i ended up going to a place called brassworks and they're making a custom radiator with the specs I provided from the original.
  7. @JUSTA6 i did and they suggested I bring it down to see if they can fix it. My concern is that if the transmission lines are rusted and leaking coolant there will be other issues with it down the road. There's a place in NY called Wizard radiator that believes they can fabricate a new one based on the specs of this one. Waiting for them to respond. It's interesting, there doesn't appear to be any radiator design documentation available anywhere for this particular make and model. I had to take all the measurements from the old one and send over. Wizard is trying to see if they can modify a radiator made for a Cadillac of the same era. If not I'll be heading to Waterford I used to live there too, over on Airport and M59 "River's Edge Apartments"
  8. @JUSTA6 thanks. I actually live about 2 hours from Pontiac. I used to live near Baldwin and Walton lol. What’s the name of the place ?
  9. Does anyone know where I might find a replacement radiator for a1959 Pontiac Catalina? I've searched the internet high and low with no luck so far. Thanks!
  10. @Frosty Thanks sir, yes I've tried all the online places except Facebook Marketplace, which I don't have but my wife does I sent a message to Lokar asking if they have a dipstick for the hydramatic, I didn't see one on their product page but maybe one of the others will work. Thanks again for the response!
  11. Hi, would anyone here know where I could find a transmission dipstick for a 1959 Pontiac Catalina running with the Hydramatic automatic transmission?
  12. @31Pontiac, thanks! Yes it’s an original Tri power with the 3 speed hydramatic. interesting trivia on the 8 lug availability. So the factory didn’t offer them until 60 but you could buy kits basically after market?
  13. @64 Kiwi Bobby Thanks sir! and yes I'm removing the 8 wheel lugs. They look cool but weren't offered until 19 60 so i figured no harm in going to the original 5 lug pattern and at the same time upgrade the front to disc. @Frosty, MPBrake recommends 15" rims. The rims I'm ordering have a +3mm offset. Hopefully they'll fit over the calipers
