1966 389 rocker torque

411 needed.  I looked through the forum and couldn’t find what I needed.  1966 389 rocker arm torque.  I believe it’s tdc, loosen rocker, set nut to 20ft lbs and then a full 180* turn correct? Had engine rebuilt 10 years ago and only put 5,000 miles on it since and sounds like a rocker that needs to be retorqued so wanted to get it right the first time.

Yep - that's the correct factory setting for standard rocker arms. If the engine has been sitting about, more than likely lifters. Warm it up, change the oil & go for a drive. Recheck (& listen for ticking noise) upon your return.

I have a 1965 389 and ended up replacing lifters, pushrods and rockers after a rebuild using dodgy Mellings parts. A bad lifter bent a pushrod and skewed the rocker off the valve.
