Growing up in Oz, the old jokes were:

Found On Rubbish Dumps (FORD)

and 'Just Holden together.'

Both were apt.

First On Race Day...Babe..

Don't Get me Wrong I'm a Hardcore GM Guy...But we have had our Asses kicked More than Once By Fords/Mopars...Through the years...On the Racetrack...So I have to give Credit where Credit is do...

AS far as Transmission Fluid goes...I Know from personal Experience That putting Type F/Mercon...B&M Trick Shift...ETC..Trans Fluid...In a GM Automatic Transmission...Will Drastically/Quickly Reduce the Life span of the Transmission..From Years to Monthes...Especially if the car is Driven hard...

The Same thing goes for installing a B&M Shift kit..Without going into a lot of Detail...Basically what the kit does is Reroute the way the trans fluid flows Through the Valve body and Increases the the internal Line Pressures...And generates a lot of Excessive heat to the point to where you have to use an External Trans Cooler...That is what makes them shift so Hard...Which is Good for Certain Racing Applications...But Not so much for Regular Street use...Unless you consider Automatic Transmissions...Differentials/U-Joints..etc.. As Sacrificial/Disposable parts...

Justa my 2 cents..

TLBT..

Thank you.

Did you miss the Fatsco link has a tech line for answering transmission questions?  I didn't dive into the info, Justa passed it along as we didn't have all the info.  Back to my original question, where is your starter located?  Trans or block?

Absolutely not...at the age of the car there are enough sacrificial/disposable parts as it is, that weren't initially designed to be so😆

I figured that to be the case, but thank you for sharing 😃
