Top maintenance g6 gt

Featured Replies

The top on my 2007 g6 gt had a issue yesterday. I tried to let it down and it seemed to try to go through the first of its cycle to open the trunk.  The trunk only really crack open and not lift as it normally would.  I stopped the cycle and reversed to close and everything latched back down.

I am not sure of what the issue is or could be I haven't tried to let it down again. I do have the oil for the pump I ordered a while ago never used.   Not sure if adding some additional would be a good idea, I've heard that can cause issues too.  I'm not honestly sure how to or how much to add anyway.

Any ideas what to do or suggestions would be appreciated.

Best info I can pass on, is one of the many sensors for each stage of opening/closing the top has gone bad or the connections need to be cleaned.  Here is a link to the G6 owners....they should be able to point you to a schematic of the top electrical and hydraulic systems.   Good Luck.
