Searching for 1967 GTO 400 YS Block

Recommended Posts

Searching for a 67 400 YS block, with a standard bore and casting date prior to October 1966. I know that’s probably wishful thinking to find one that fits all that criteria. Please let me know if you have something. I’m in the Dallas, Texas area.

Thanks Frosty! I spoke to Frank about this block soon after he acquired it. Frank says it will have to be bored .060. I was hoping to find one that can be bored 20-30, at the most. I keep an eye on Frank’s site for new arrivals. I appreciate you telling me about this one.

You're welcome. I have a list of other junkyards. Frank's is the only dedicated Pontiac yard I know of. Plus they publish what they have online. All the rest you have to call and see if they have it - hit or miss.  Keeping checking eBay, Craigslist, and Facebook Marketplace too. Hemmings.com might also have something.

Since you are in Texas, you could try these classic wrecking yards:

CTC Auto Ranch - Denton Tx

Brown Auto Salvage - Sunset TX

K&K Motors - Graham TX

You might get a lead from Texas Trans Am in Mansfield TX but they do specialize on Trans Am parts and not GTOs. However, they might know someone with a older 400 block.
