Removal of Door Edge Guards

Featured Replies

Hello! I have a 2010 Pontiac g6 gt. I have been looking to remove the edge guards off my doors. I had gotten about a quarter of the way through on my first door when I realized the manufacturer had drilled holes into the doors to adhere the guards in a way to keep them straight. Is there a way for me to still remove the guards or is it a lost cause? Is this something I could get fixed for a reasonable price?

Correct, they’re drilled in. Haven’t heard of anything low cost to fix it. Going to take some filler and a paint job to make it look nicer than then being there so most just leave them to my knowledge. Sorry I don’t have better news.

Thought they killed those off in 07. Maybe just on coupes…

Yes, after some reading it would cost anywhere from 400 to 2000 depending on the mechanic. Definitely not a fix that’s super worth it to me. Bummed they were installed as I feel they bring down the overall look of the car. Thanks anyways!
