window regulators

Featured Replies

Hi guy am currently looking for window regulators for left back window. And wondering if any other year is compatible with my 69 bonneville.Seen a couple of them at Franks pontiac but are for a 68 and another for 67.My thinking is that they were made for a few years on different cars.

Thanks Terry

Terry, '69 was a one year only deal for a lot of parts on the Bonneville/Catalina line. That said Frank's is definitely a good place to start. There are other Pontiac/classic car salvage yards you can try are Desert Valley Auto Parts and Old Gold Cars.

Obviously eBay and Craiglist are possible sources but they can be hit or miss at times - or pricey.

Hi again Frosty  to be honest hard to believe that parts for the 69 Bonneville are hard to come by.Back in the day growing up it was one of hottest cars that being said think I am just going to try to take the old one out clean it up and rebuild it.Did e-mail Franks  with no luck anther winter project ..

Add CTC Auto Ranch out of Texas to the list of junkyards.

You might have better luck cleaning and rebuilding them. There are rebuild kits for most window regulators with new nylon bushings, etc. That might be your best / least-cost route.

The sad thing about the '69 Bonneville/Catalina was it was a big car and (at the time), they tended to be throw away cars. Now they are nearly gone. No one re-pops parts for them due to lack of interest / availability.

  1. Hey Frosty think your right the regulator doesn't look to bad and bought a kit that might work to rebuild. It is sham though the bonnevile and Catalina  were really nice cars back in the day

TerryH - I'm totally with you, they are great cars! Too bad there are a lot of one-off parts on these cars that makes folks who own them struggle to find them.

Let us know how your window regulator project goes. Send us pictures when you get the chance. We all like to see and learn.

Just wondering if the Bonneville and Catlina would be considered class A body?

Bonnevilles and Catalinas and the older Grand Prixes are considered B-bodies. A-bodies are the GTO, Tempest, Lemans, Custom S, T-37, GT-37. F-bodies are the Firebirds and Camaros.
